Awesome Andorra

Day 1 09 June London city airport a dream However very expensive to eat and drink Business class passengers no lounge Flight was delayed by an hour Flight was good crew were great Passport control was smooth & friendly at Barcelona Thankfully booked a bus that gave a lot of connection time Bus leaves from terminal 1 you should give yourself at least an hour after your flight arrives, so glad we booked the later Bus especially as the flight was delayed Would suggest booking in advance especially other ski ?? season Great transfer such much to see takes approx. 3.5 hrs No food or alcohol allowed on the bus, bus takes you to the Bus station and then you get a feeder bus to your hotel/s Finally arrived Andorra at 22.15 long day but worth it! The Yomo Centric Hotel is lovely

Day 2 - 10 June Up early great breakfast in the Hotel Yomo would 100% recommend, large rooms, friendly and helpful staff Walked to the old town lovey pretty streets however lots closed saw Casa de La Vall. Excellent shopping being tax free! Caught local bus to Meritxell took approx 25 minutes then 10 minutes uphill walk to sanctuary of Madonna, that not impressive. However the hamlet of Meritxell was beautiful Had excellent wine (€1.70 a glass) at Comet Bar the lady was so friendly. Opposite the bar is the hotel L’Ermita. From there we caught the bus to Canillo which is 1526m above sea level. Again nice little town had had a great lunch at L’lguana Bus back to the Center of Andorra enroute we encountered a huge storm which appears to happen most days at 5pm in the summer months. Had drinks at Tapeta here the wine is €6 glass Had a lovely diner of seafood paella at Dos Cacadors Been a fantastic day walked over 16k steps and 6.5 mile

Day 3 - 11 June Another excellent breakfast at the Yomo Hotel Then off to Ordino a lovely little village approx 20 mins by bus which only cost a € person. Very pretty town with the lovely Santa Maria church where I lit a candle for my beautiful girl Doris ?? The village has so many traditional Andorran houses dating back to the 19th century Then caught the bus to Llorts lovely scenic drive for 20 cents but nothing to do and restaurants were closed Back to Ordino for a lovely lunch of French onion ?? soup at the Hotel Tropic Bus back to Andorra de Vall for some shopping there are 3 big malls plus lots of other shops Drinks at the Riverside bar followed by fantastic tapas at the DonDenis restaurant would 100% recommend both Finally ice cream at Santos Another fantastic day in beautiful Andorra

Day 4 - 12 June Early check out to get the bus back to Barcelona Airport, we left the hotel at 7.15am, breakfast doesn't start until 7.30. Caught Taxi to the Bus Station. Only vending machines selling crisps and chocolate, so headed to a hotel where we got a take away breakfast well worth the 10 Euros. Ate it will waiting at the Station as you cant eat on the Bus. We had prebooked tickets however you still have to get these checked and stamped by staff although no one tells you its a case of finding out for yourself! Lovely Bus and again a good journey, boarder control is efficient and quick. Barcelona Airport was a different matter though! Luckily travelling Business Class meant FastTrack at security instead of the 35 minute wait that day, if possible would definitely recommend paying for FastTrack if you don't travel Business Class. The lounge was busy and hadn't been cleaned lots of dishes, glasses everywhere. There had been 7 transatlantic flights all leaving within an hour of each other, just think it was understaffed. Finally it start to get cleared however there was plenty of choice of food and drink. Flight was delayed again 1.5hrs on the runway, once in the air it was a good flight, very friendly crew. Arrived at London City Airport and was on the DLR within 15mins!

Andorra is a lovely little country a great mixture of Spanish and French culture, language, food and drink. Would definitely recommend a summer break, the scenery is beautiful and its a great place for hiking.
