A first-hand look at Fred. Olsen’s elegant smaller ship experience from Liverpool
Recently I had the opportunity to visit Fred. Olsen’s beautiful ship Bolette during her call into Liverpool, giving me the chance to explore the ship in detail, experience the atmosphere onboard, and gather the kind of insights that help me offer truly personalised cruise recommendations to my clients.
I recently had the pleasure of spending the day aboard Fred. Olsen’s beautiful ship, Bolette, during her visit to Liverpool on a gorgeous sunny day!
As a CLIA Cruise Master, the highest specialist level within the cruise industry, ship visits like these are an important part of what I do. They allow me to experience a cruise ship first-hand so I can confidently share honest insights and recommendations with my clients.
We were welcomed aboard in refined style with a glass of fizz, tea, coffee, and pastries before enjoying a fascinating tour of the ship. The visit included viewing the majority of the cabin categories, from the surprisingly bright and spacious inside cabins right through to the impressive Owner’s Suite. Seeing the differences in layout, space, storage, and overall atmosphere helps me better match the right cabin and cruise experience to each client’s individual needs and budget.
Bolette has a wonderfully relaxed and elegant atmosphere, combining traditional cruising charm with stylish modern touches. The ship feels welcoming throughout, with inviting lounges, comfortable cabins, beautifully presented dining venues, and lovely outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine and sea views, whether with a cocktail in hand or dining al fresco.
Our visit ended with a training session followed by a delicious three-course lunch in the main restaurant, along with a tasting of the house wines included with lunch and dinner for all guests. I can happily report that the crisp white wine was excellent, and the food was some of the best I’ve enjoyed on a cruise ship - feedback very much echoed by my clients who love exploring the world with Fred. Olsen.
We disembarked in the afternoon as guests were arriving ready for the ship’s next sailing to the Norwegian Fjords. As there are relatively few cruises departing directly from Liverpool, this offers a wonderfully convenient and stress-free start to a cruise holiday for travellers from the North West.
