This week i ask Swindon Town striker and EFL top goaldcorer Aaron Drinan his thoughts on Travel and what he enjoys and is looking forward to regarding his future travel plans

1. What has been your most amazing travel experience?

I would say the Global Village in Dubai. I got a small taste of what the different cultures around the world are like, and most importantly, there was plenty of food on offer.

2. Where is your favourite city in the world, home or abroad, and why?

I’m going to have to say my hometown, Cork. I’ve lived in the UK for nearly 10 years now, so I think every time I get to go home it makes it that much better. (Yes, there are other places in Ireland besides Dublin!)

3. Have you ever cruised? If not, would you?

Never cruised, and to be honest, I’m not sure if I would. As of now, I’d be leaning towards saying no, but who knows.

4.Favourite beach resort?

Not much of a beach person.

5. Where was your last holiday?

Tenerife – it was my first time there and it’s a great spot. The hotel cleopatra, we loved it there

6. Where is your next holiday?

None planned as of yet, must decide a honeymoon spot for next year!

7. Dream holiday location?

St Lucia.(See below for details on ST Lucia honeymoon ideas)

8. Do you have a favourite meal or restaurant anywhere abroad?

A good steak can never be wrong. As long as it's medium rare of course, anything else is a crime

9. Do you have a favourite holiday photo? Whereabouts are you in it, and is there a reason it’s your favourite?

My favourite holiday photo would be my first family photo with my little girl and fiancé in the pool in Dubai.

10. Any top travel tips?

Reading reviews goes a long way.

11. Finally... Do you fold or roll your luggage?

To be honest, a bit of both!

Thanks to Aaron for his time sending these across, it looks like some exciting travel plans are in the pipeline . Good luck for the rest of the season.

As Aaron has mentioned ST Lucia i have included a few ideas for the perfect romantic trip

Why St Lucia Makes  a Dream Honeymoon Destination,If you’re considering a honeymoon (or any extra-special romantic escape), St Lucia is simply stunning. Known as the “Helen of the West Indies”, the island offers a mesmerising blend of natural beauty, signature Caribbean warmth, and unforgettable experiences.

Best Time to Visit: St Lucia enjoys a tropical climate year-round, ideal for a romantic escape anytime. For the sunniest and driest weather, January to April is the sweet spot—perfect for honeymooners! The island is lush and green thanks to a wetter season June to November, but do note that August to October is hurricane season.

A Few Gorgeous St Lucia Hotels for Couples:

A Brief Itinerary Idea would be to Stroll through Soufriere’s colourful markets or visit the therapeutic sulphur springs at the drive-in volcano . You can also hike the rainforests or take a guided climb of Gros Piton for the sunrise,Dine by candlelight overlooking the Caribbean Sea  or even Charter a private yacht to explore hidden coves and snorkel off pristine beaches

For anyone planning a honeymoon or special escape, St Lucia ticks every box for beauty, relaxation, and once-in-a-lifetime memories.
