Hi I’m Debbie Johnson - your personal Travel Counsellor.
I am based in Grantham, Lincolnshire with customers both local and national.
Australia, Caribbean, Mexico, Mauritius, Seychelles, Florida, Bangkok, New York, Kenyan safari, Greek Islands, Cyprus, Portugal, Spanish mainland and islands, Turkey, Canaries, skiing in France and Florence are just some of the destinations that I have been lucky enough to visit!
As you can see I love to travel, I started my career in the travel industry after leaving school 35 years ago. Wherever you are looking to visit, I can help! I have a wealth of experience which I would love to share with you.
I am a mum to two children who are now 19 and 17, so I understand the needs and requirements of families with children and older teens. I also travelled extensively prior to having children and can recommend resorts and accommodation to suit all your needs no matter how your party is made up.
My specialist areas, apart from the destinations I have travelled to, include cruises: I have cruise expert status from the Association of Cruise Experts. I have great knowledge of many of the ships, itineraries and offers that are available. I also specialise in weddings and honeymoons. However, if there is an area that I do not have first-hand knowledge of, I have a network of over 1,600 Travel Counsellors worldwide so whether it be a resort, accommodation or a recommendation for a restaurant for that special occasion - I can find out the information for you!
I am lucky enough to say that I love the job that I do. I get a personal satisfaction in helping my customers put together their dream holiday - let’s face it, we work hard all year for our holidays and I will take a personal responsibility in making sure your travel arrangements run as smoothly as possible.
I am able to offer a flexible service not restricted to office hours either over the phone or e-mail, or I can visit you in the comfort of your own home at a time convenient to you. You can rest assured in the knowledge that I will get the holiday that is right for you!

Magical Mauritius

In May I was lucky enough to win a place on a team trip to Mauritius! This is somewhere I have always wanted to visit for years - it certainly didn't disappoint! What a start to this trip too; the chance to experience business class with Emirates on A380. We travelled through the night so being able to recline my seat into a fully-flat bed topped with a comfy mattress was amazing! That said, with a huge choice of films on a personal screen, your very own minibar or the chance to mingle in the on-board lounge with a choice of canapés and drinks from the bar it seemed a shame to sleep! After a 90 minute transfer, we arrived at the beautiful Beachcomber Paradis hotel. Located on the Le Morne Peninsular- the setting is simple breathtaking on a long stretch of soft white sand with the backdrop of the majestic Le Morne Mountain. Paradis is a lovely hotel and the benefit of being able to use the facilities on offer at nearby Dinarobin is an added bonus! This gives you an incredible choice of eight restaurants and a huge choice of free activities including sailing, water skiing, paddle boards, an 18 hole championship golf course - or why not treat yourself to a treatment in the spa! Dinarobin has a totally different character - ideal for honeymooners; with an adult only section, a huge pool and one of the best spas on the island. There's also the Club at Dinarobin – the only private members club concept on the island. What surprised me most was how much Mauritius has to offer away from the beautiful beaches despite the fact it's only a small island at only 35 miles long by about 25 miles wide. We enjoyed an evening Catamaran cruise - a spectacular sunset and singing under the brilliant stars in the middle of the Indian Ocean is a picture in my head I will never forget! We took a day trip to Port Louis. The capital feels like a kaleidoscope of countries and cultures with flashes of India, Africa and China. We shopped in the local markets and enjoyed a lunch at a local brewery. Not to be missed is a trip to Casela National Park. Zip wiring through the beautiful surroundings was an awesome experience -despite my fear of heights! We also visited the safari platform to see the tallest animal on the planet - Casella is home to nine giraffe; one of whom enjoyed some food from the palm of my hand and posed for a selfie! On our last evening we were treated to a dinner on the terrace in one of the beautiful private villas within Dinarobin resort. It really was the perfect end to a perfect trip. Mauritius really has something for everyone and I look forward to helping you plan your trip to this spectacular island. Interesting facts and top tips! Mauritius is an all year round destination, due to the island's sub-tropical climate. The ‘cooler' months are May to August in Mauritius, although the daytime temperatures remain warm at around 25 degrees Celsius on average. The weather is ideal for children and those who don't like it too hot. At this time of the year the west coast of Mauritius is a couple of degrees warmer than the East, due to the east coast trade winds. Consider Mauritius for your family summer holiday. There are some amazing prices compared to five star prices within the Med at the same time of year! An ideal wedding destination - guaranteed to only have one wedding a day!
