Venice Venture - My 5 day trip of Canals and Culture

Our five-day trip in the one and only Venice truly lived up to the hype.

Day 1: Arrival Our journey commenced with a private shuttle from the airport, offering a breath taking introduction to the Grand Canal and the unique architecture that defines Venice. We checked into Hotel Stucky Giudecca, a charming spot seamlessly blending luxury with the city's timeless allure. A leisurely stroll along the Giudecca Canal set the perfect tone for our Venetian adventure.

Day 2: Exploring the Quarters Day two began with a hassle-free ride on the hotel's private boat shuttle to St. Mark's Square. We wandered through San Marco, absorbed the energy of Piazza San Marco, and explored the historic neighbourhoods of Dorsoduro and Cannaregio. Each district had its own distinct character, making Venice feel like a collection of mini-worlds.

Day 3: Island Escapade We embarked on a captivating 3-island tour: Murano, Burano, and Torcello. Murano's glasswork was mind-blowing, Burano's colourful houses and lace making resembled a dream, and Torcello's tranquility offered a welcome escape from the tourist buzz.

Day 4: Cultural Immersion We explored cultural hotspots like Doge's Palace, Gallerie dell'Accademia, Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and Museo Correr. Each stop provided a unique glimpse into Venice's rich tapestry, from the opulence of Doge's Palace to the avant-garde art at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.

Day 5: Iconic Landmarks and Leisure We wrapped up the trip with must-see landmarks—St. Mark's Basilica, Rialto Bridge, and the Grand Canal with a gondola ride offered a different perspective of the city, and also reserved a slot to go the rooftop terrace at a palazzo shopping centre which provided breath taking views. We finished the day browsing luxury fashion stores at Calle XXll Marzo and a Peach Bellini at the renowned Harry's Bar.

We visited many bars and restaurants in Venice, but a few of my personal favourites were…

• Vecio Marangon in Dorsoduro, serving a traditional Italian meal. Enjoy the rich flavours of Italy in a warm and inviting atmosphere at this charming restaurant.

• Terrazzo Aperol: The perfect place to soak up the traditions of Venice and savour the ritual of Cicchetti & Aperol Spritz.

• Brunch Cafe, Calle de la Madoneta: A lovely café with a delightful atmosphere and incredible cuisine! Perfect for brunch, offering a good choice of sweet and savoury options.

• Farini, Rialto: One of three in Venice offering fresh focaccias, pizza by the slice & cakes served with hot drinks and fresh juice.

• Cafe Al Theatro, Campo San Fantin: This delightful venue serves a good selection of pastries & cakes, focaccias, and coffees.

• Gelato Fantasy, San Marco: Delicious Gelato in a city with so many choices, a great selection of flavours, and serves lovely pancakes and smoothies too.

All in all, Venice was an absolute delight. The canals, the history, the food, the art—everything blended seamlessly to create an experience that's hard to put into words. If you're craving a unique adventure, Venice should be on your list.
