A Multi Generational Weekend in Venice
Why Venice? From iconic gondola rides along winding canals to breathtaking architecture and hidden backstreets, Venice is a destination that feels like a dream. Some of my favorite highlights included:
?? A gondola ride at sunset – a must for the full Venetian experience
?? St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace – rich in history and beauty
?? Delicious local cuisine – think handmade pasta, seafood risotto, and of course, daily gelato
??? Exploring hidden gems – Venice is full of quiet courtyards and off-the-beaten-path treasures
I travelled with my mum (79) and two teenage daughters, none of them like crowds so the challenge was how to navigate this in a one of the most popular tourist spots and peak travel period.
I chose a hotel in Canarregio neighbourhood, which is quieter but had the most amazing, authentic restaurants just a block away and a great nightlife. Speedboat transfer took us right to hotel, so no lugging cases around plus it felt very glamorous! What a way to start and end a holiday!
