I’m Ian, a proud Yorkshireman, now living in Swinton, Manchester, where I’ve lived for many years, having made my life on this side of the Pennines. I’m married and have a grown- up daughter and son, who have been well educated in the “art” of travel, enjoying both diverse family holidays and independent travel throughout the World.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are from my first family holidays, spent in Butlins resorts around the UK; however, when I was lucky enough to travel to Switzerland with my parents at a young age, I was hooked. I was determined to take my family abroad as soon as they were of an age to appreciate the many and various cultures around the world, with a view to expanding their horizons. My son is now living and working in Australia and my daughter has benefitted from two years in Camp America, as well as travelling in Australia which may indicate our aim has been achieved. Our family holidays have stretched across the globe, from Europe to USA to Asia, helping us appreciate multiple cultures and traditions, whilst having fun!

My previous work has involved extensive travel, spending weeks at a time in Europe, India and the USA. As a dedicated performer in competitive brass bands since my teenage years, I have been fortunate to travel as part of a group to Australia, Japan, and Sierra Leone just to name a few memorable destinations. I currently play cornet with the Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band, and look after all their travel arrangements in the UK and Europe, regularly handling bookings for in excess of 30 people.
