My Review – Celebrity Apex

My honest Celebrity Apex review covering Infinite Veranda cabins, dining, Eden, the Magic Carpet and why I would sail again.

Jay Hollingsworth on 25 Feb 2026

If you are considering sailing on Celebrity Apex and wondering whether it really lives up to the hype, this is my honest take after experiencing it for myself. From the innovative Infinite Veranda stateroom to the iconic Magic Carpet and some seriously impressive dining, here is exactly what stood out and whether I would book it again.

Celebrity Apex Overview

Celebrity Apex Review: One Seriously Slick Ship

The moment you step onboard Celebrity Apex, you know this is not your typical cruise ship. Part of the award-winning Edge Class from Celebrity Cruises, Apex feels more boutique hotel than floating resort. It is sleek, modern and effortlessly stylish.

I had heard plenty about it before sailing, but what impressed me most was how well everything flowed. Nothing felt overcrowded. Nothing felt outdated. It just worked.

And that, for me, is always the sign of a well-designed ship.

Celebrity Apex Infinite Veranda Stateroom

Infinite Veranda Stateroom: A Smart Take on Balcony Cabins

We stayed in an Infinite Veranda stateroom, which is one of the most talked-about features on Celebrity Apex.

Instead of a traditional step-out balcony, the entire outer wall of the cabin is floor-to-ceiling glass. With the press of a button, the top half lowers to create an open-air feel. Essentially, your whole room becomes the veranda.

I will be honest. Before sailing, I was not sure how I would feel about it. But in reality, the extra interior space makes a noticeable difference. The cabin felt bright, airy and far more usable than some standard balcony layouts.

The storage was generous, the lighting intuitive, and the bathroom well-designed. It felt premium without being over-the-top.  If you enjoy relaxing in your cabin with a coffee and a sea view, this setup genuinely works.

Celebrity Apex Grand Plaza

The Grand Plaza and Martini Bar: The Social Heart of the Ship

Right at the centre of Celebrity Apex is the Grand Plaza, and it quickly became one of my favourite spaces.

Three decks high, crowned by a dramatic chandelier, it has that elegant but lively energy that draws you in. In the evenings, it really comes alive.

And then there is the Martini Bar.

The bartenders are not just mixing drinks; they are putting on a show. Classic cocktails, creative twists and plenty of flair. It is the kind of place where you pop in for one and end up staying longer than planned.  For me, this is where Apex truly nails that grown-up but fun balance.

Celebrity Apex Eden

Eden: A Space Unlike Anything Else at Sea

Eden deserves its own section because it is genuinely unique.

By day, it is calm and relaxed. Floor-to-ceiling windows, lush greenery and comfortable seating make it the perfect spot to sit with a drink or a book while watching the ocean roll by.

By night, it transforms. The lighting shifts, the atmosphere changes, and it becomes immersive and atmospheric. It feels intimate and different from any other cruise venue I have experienced.

If you like spaces that are a little unexpected, Eden will be right up your street.

Celebrity Apex Resort Deck

The Resort Deck, Solarium and Rooftop Garden

The Resort Deck on Celebrity Apex is beautifully laid out. Instead of rows and rows of tightly packed loungers, there are tiered seating areas that give you proper sea views.

It feels spacious rather than chaotic.  For adults who prefer a quieter vibe, the Solarium is ideal. Calm, covered and peaceful, it is exactly where I would gravitate on a sea day.

The Rooftop Garden is another standout. Greenery, comfy seating, and a relaxed atmosphere make it perfect for a late-afternoon drink or an evening film under the stars.

It is these little design touches that elevate Apex above many other mainstream cruise ships.

Celebrity Apex Magic Carpet

The Magic Carpet: More Than Just a Gimmick

You cannot talk about a Celebrity Apex review without mentioning the Magic Carpet.

That bright orange platform on the side of the ship is not just for show. It moves between decks and serves different purposes, from a tender embarkation area to an extension of dining and bar venues.

I loved it as a drinks venue. Suspended above the sea, with uninterrupted views, it genuinely feels special.  It is one of those features that sounds like a marketing idea, but in reality, it works brilliantly.

Celebrity Apex Dining

Dining on Celebrity Apex: Variety Done Properly

Dining is always a big factor for me when choosing a cruise, and Celebrity Apex absolutely delivers.

Instead of one large main dining room, there are four separate restaurants: Tuscan, Cyprus, Normandie and Cosmopolitan. Each has its own design and a few exclusive dishes, alongside a shared core menu.

We opted for Celebrity Select Dining for flexibility, which suited us perfectly. It meant we could plan our evenings around shows, drinks or simply how we felt.  The experience felt more like dining in stylish city restaurants than in a traditional cruise dining room.

When it comes to speciality dining, Fine Cut Steakhouse was the highlight for me. The atmosphere was polished yet relaxed, and the steak was cooked to perfection. It was one of those meals you genuinely remember long after the holiday ends.

There are plenty of other options too, including Raw on 5 and Eden Restaurant, so food lovers will never be short of choice.

Celebrity Apex

Would I Sail on Celebrity Apex Again?

Without hesitation, yes.

Celebrity Apex strikes that sweet spot between modern luxury and relaxed cruising. It feels sophisticated without being stuffy, innovative without being gimmicky.

From the Infinite Veranda cabin to the Martini Bar, Eden and Fine Cut Steakhouse, the whole experience felt elevated.

Would I rebook? Absolutely. And I would not even need to think twice about it.
