Things I Won’t Do as Your Travel Agent
Things I Won’t Do as Your Travel Agent (and why that’s actually a good thing) ✈️ When people think about using a travel agent, they sometimes assume it’s all about chasing the cheapest deal or pushing for a quick booking. And honestly? That’s never been how I work. My job isn’t to sell you a holiday. It’s to help you book the right holiday. Sometimes what I won’t do says more than what I will — so here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how I approach planning your trips.
I won’t book you the cheapest holiday
Because cheapest rarely means best value.
Anyone can find a low price online these days. A quick search will throw up hundreds of “bargains”.
But often those deals come with:
- 5am departures
- Long stopovers
- Hidden luggage costs
- Hotels miles from anywhere
- Or places that look great in photos but disappointing in real life
By the time you add the extras (and the stress), it’s not actually a bargain at all.
For me, it’s never just about price — it’s about value.
How will you feel on day three of the trip?
Will it be easy? Comfortable? Enjoyable?
Because saving £100 isn’t worth it if you spend the whole holiday tired or frustrated.
I’d much rather recommend something that truly suits your needs, priorities and budget — not just the lowest number on the screen.
I won’t send you to a hotel I wouldn’t stay in myself
If I wouldn’t happily book it for my own friends or family… I won’t book it for you.
Simple as that.
There are so many options out there, and not all of them are good ones.
So you won’t get:
- “It’ll do” hotels
- Questionable locations
- Or somewhere that looks nothing like the photos
You’ll get places I trust.
Places with great feedback.
Places I feel confident putting my name to.
Because when you travel with my recommendation, I want you
to arrive and think,
“This is exactly what we hoped for.”
I won’t push you to make a booking
Holidays should feel exciting — not pressured.
You’ll never get a hard sell or “you must book today” energy from me.
Of course, I’ll always be honest if availability is tight or prices are likely to change — but you’ll never feel chased or rushed.
If you need time to:
- Think it over
- Compare options
- Check dates
- Or just sleep on it
Take it.
This is your holiday and your money. You should feel completely comfortable with your decision.
I’m here to guide and advise — not push.
And I definitely won’t treat you like just another booking
Every trip has a story behind it.
Sometimes it’s:
- a honeymoon
- a big birthday
- long-overdue family time
- a once-in-a-lifetime adventure
- or simply a break because life’s been busy
Whatever the reason, it matters.
So you’re never just a reference number or invoice to me.
I take the time to get to know what you want, what you don’t want, and what will make this holiday feel special for you.
What I will do
I will:
- Listen
- Ask questions
- Be honest
- Offer thoughtful recommendations
- And make the whole process feel easy and stress-free
Because the best holidays aren’t just booked quickly.
They’re planned carefully, with you in mind.
If that sounds like the kind of support you’d like when organising your next trip, I’m always happy to chat — whether you’re ready to book or just starting to think about ideas ✈️
