Argentina

I’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Argentina, a country close to my heart as most of my family live there. We spent most of the time in Buenos Aires – a vibrant and exciting city with everything you could want from a cosmopolitan capital and more. If you like steak, red wine, culture, shopping and cafes you can’t go wrong with Buenos Aires (it didn’t hurt that the currency devalued during my visit and overnight prices were halved!) What surprised me this time though was how child friendly the city is too – people just love kids and couldn't do enough to accommodate us. My four year old daughter and her three and one year old cousins were treated like royalty and never a nuisance (even tantrums were cooed at!)

We stayed in Palermo Hollywood. A fantastic corner of the city that has abundant bars and restaurants. I can wholeheartedly recommend Palermo - whether you stay in Palermo Hollywood, Palermo Soho or Palermo Viejo, each one of these locations has character and is a wonderful choice if you want to discover beautiful boutique hotels but also be where the locals are.

After a week of 30 + temperatures (in December – I’m not complaining!), we moved to the coast, around four hours away in a beautiful beach town called Villa Gesell. Our beach cabin was nestled on one side by sand dunes and the other by sea... a pretty idyllic place to spend Christmas which we naturally celebrated with a barbecue and a few hours sunbathing!
