Girls trip to Rome
Treat from my daughter to relive our favourite movie in Rome
Rome - City of Culture and Beauty
Rome, the city of history and beauty. For us the reason to go was watching the Lizzy McGuire movie together with my daughter when she was younger. She booked a trip to Rome so we could be where ‘dreams are made of’ (If you have seen the movie you will understand)

This was my first visit to Italy, and I just fell in love, with the culture, buildings, history and the food! It is amazing, stunning buildings and history everywhere you turn. Inside the Colosseum felt very earie, and the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel were just beautiful. You just walked along with the crowds with you head looking up. Amazing.

We took the open top city tour bus, which was great to see all the sights, however it showed us how the city is very walkable, with plenty of places to stop for a prosecco and just people watch. The roads are crazy! But there is a constant buzz and yet serene feel to the city.

We booked fast track tickets to the Colosseum and the Vatican, which I would recommend doing. For the Colosseum we walked straight in but even with the fast-track tickets for the Vatican we still queued to get in, but the wait was truly worth it.

My favourite despite how busy it is was the Trevi Fountain, and of course we made a wish. We kept getting lost and the last evening walking to find a restaurant for dinner we came across the fountain again all lit up at night which was a real bonus.
I ate possibly the best lasagne I have ever had this trip, and this is where my love affair with Italy began.
We spent three nights in Rome, and there was nothing we didn’t get done, so I think it’s the perfect number of nights for you to be able to explore and see all the sights. Our apartment was very central with a view of the Colosseum from down the little street.
