An unforgettable tour of Sicily

Sicily offers a mix of coastline, historic sites, and everyday Italian life, all shaped by different influences over time. This week-long itinerary starts on the east coast and works across the island, taking in Mount Etna, Taormina, Agrigento, and Palermo. Along the way, you’ll visit some of Sicily’s best-known landmarks, from ancient ruins to standout food spots, while also getting a feel for the places in between.

You’ll begin near Mount Etna, where one of the island’s most recognisable landscapes sets the tone for the trip. A visit to the volcano takes you up onto its slopes, with the option to ascend higher by cable car. The terrain shifts from green hills to dark volcanic rock, and the views stretch out across the coastline. It’s a clear introduction to Sicily’s natural side and one of the most memorable moments of the journey.
Next, you’ll head to Taormina, a hilltop town looking out over the Ionian Sea. A guided tour includes the Greek Theatre, set high above the water with Mount Etna in the background. After taking in the views, you’ll get to try granita, a semi-frozen dessert that’s a local favourite and very much part of daily life in Sicily.
From here, you’ll continue west to Agrigento, home to the Valley of the Temples. Exploring the site with a local guide, you’ll walk past some of the best-preserved Greek ruins outside of Greece, including the Temple of Concordia. On the way, there’s also a visit to the Roman Villa del Casale, known for its detailed mosaics that give a different insight into Sicily’s past. Later in the trip, time in Palermo includes a street food experience, offering a more informal look at the city through its flavours.
Throughout the trip, you’ll stay in carefully selected 4-star hotels that offer a comfortable and consistent base. Rooms are well-equipped with modern facilities, and many properties include features such as swimming pools, bars, and on-site restaurants. These hotels are well located for the itinerary and give you space to relax at the end of each day.
