After departing from Rome, the first standout stop is Livorno, your gateway to Florence, Pisa, and Tuscany. Even outside the headline sights, there’s plenty to enjoy in Tuscany, from relaxed trattorias and strong espresso to little wine bars where lunch can easily turn into the best part of the day.
Next, you’ll arrive in Mahón, Menorca, which feels much more relaxed. The harbour is one of the largest natural harbours in the world, and the town has a calm, understated vibe that makes everyone feel at home. Think waterside restaurants, local gin, seafood, and quiet streets lined with elegant old houses. It is a lovely contrast to the bigger cities on the sailing, and a great place to enjoy the more easy-going side of the Mediterranean.
Later in the journey, Barcelona picks the energy right back up again. This is a city with real personality, where grand architecture, beachside living, and brilliant food all sit side by side. You might spend your time taking in Gaudí landmarks, such as the Sagrada Família, wandering through the Gothic Quarter, or heading to La Boqueria for snacks, fresh juices, and all the small bites that make food stops here so memorable.
Back on board Oceania Sirena, the experience is just as considered. The ship has a more intimate feel than larger vessels, with attentive service and plenty of space to unwind.
