🦍 I’ve Just Booked an Incredible Uganda & Rwanda Adventure!

I’ve just booked an incredible 12-day adventure through Uganda and Rwanda for my clients, and I couldn’t resist sharing a little of what they have to look forward to! 🌍✨

This is so much more than a traditional safari. It’s a carefully planned journey combining incredible wildlife encounters, gorilla trekking, conservation, culture, history and some truly spectacular scenery.

And I have a feeling this is going to be a trip they’ll remember for the rest of their lives!

🇺🇬 The adventure begins in Uganda

Their journey starts in Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, before heading into some of Uganda’s most fascinating wildlife destinations.

One of the first experiences will be a guided canoe excursion through Mabamba Swamp, searching for the elusive Shoebill Stork, followed by a behind-the-scenes visit to the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre to learn more about wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.

From there, it's onwards to Murchison Falls National Park, with a very special stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walking safari to track southern white rhinos.

Then comes the mighty River Nile and Murchison Falls  followed by game drives, a private boat cruise along the Victoria Nile and even a night game drive. 🦏🐘🦛

🐒 Chimpanzees, savannah & sunset cruises

The journey continues south towards Kibale National Park, known as the primate capital of East Africa.

Here, my clients will head into the rainforest with experienced guides for a chimpanzee tracking experience, before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

There will be game drives, a beautiful sunset cruise and the chance to see hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds and other wildlife along the waterways followed by another night game drive in search of predators. 🐊🦛

🦍 And then… the gorillas!

One of the biggest highlights of this trip will undoubtedly be Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After travelling through the beautiful highlands of western Uganda, my clients will trek into the ancient rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family.

Depending on where the gorillas are located, the trek can take several hours and involve varied terrain  but once they find them, they’ll have the incredible opportunity to spend an hour observing these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.

A true bucket-list experience. 🦍❤️

🇷🇼 From Uganda into Rwanda

The adventure doesn't stop there!

They’ll cross the border into Rwanda and continue to Volcanoes National Park, where they’ll visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and learn more about the conservation work protecting mountain gorillas.

And then comes another very special experience…

A second gorilla trek! 🦍

This time, exploring the forests of Rwanda in search of another habituated gorilla family.

The itinerary then moves beyond wildlife, with a visit to a local community to experience traditional Rwandan dance, music, crafts and conservation initiatives.

❤️ Finishing in Kigali

The final part of the trip takes them to Kigali, where the focus shifts towards Rwanda's fascinating  and at times heartbreaking  history.

They’ll have a privately guided visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, followed by a moving excursion to the Nyamata and Ntarama memorial sites and a visit to Mbyo Reconciliation Village.

There will also be time to experience a little of everyday Kigali, including Kimironko Market, before finishing with a farewell dinner and their journey home.
