Beautiful Barcelona

Most people think Barcelona is just another normal city break but they would be wrong. Our trip to Barcelona was amazing!! We went for a belated 40th, I was almost 42 when we travelled due to Covid. We went as a family of 9 over 3 generations. We travelled in April 2022 and stayed for 7 nights as we thought there was so much to do in a wonderful city. We were not disappointed! We stayed in the centre of Barcelona in the Grupotel Gran Via hotel. It was in a great location where we could walk to most locations within Barcelona. The weather at this time of year was great, warm weather every day apart from 1 day when it decided to be very windy and cold on our open top bus tour. These tours are a great way to visit a city before you go to visit the attractions or to visit attractions that are slightly to far to walk too like the Nou Camp Football Stadium. During our time in Barcelona, we went on many trips, some cultural, some exciting trips, some more slow paced and some more adrenaline packed. During our time we went to the very picturesque Parc Guell, Our sporty family loved the Nou Camp, we visited the port area and went to Barcelona Aquarium, visited the Gothic Quarter, went down La Ramblas, Tibidabo Amusement Park, We visited and went inside the world famous La Sagrada Familia. What a gorgeous cathedral the whole family enjoyed. My best part of the week was visiting the Arc De Triomf on route to Parc De La Ciutadella. This to me was stunning. They had performers and street artists along the promenade, Huge palm trees either side with bright blue skies, the atmosphere was brilliant with lots of laughter by my two youngest children. Just magical and it didn’t cost a penny. Parc De La Ciutadella was just as impressive which houses its own zoo. My favourite place to eat was along the beach at the delicious Sal Mar restaurant which was on the picturesque Barceloneta Beach. You can eat inside but we managed to reserve a table on the beach! The views were to die for, the food was superb. I’d highly recommend the Seafood Paella YUM!! We packed a lot into the week as you can tell by the itinerary photo attached but we could have stayed there longer. Wonderful stay in a beautiful city.
