Celebrating 20 Years in Travel: My Journey!
They say once the travel bug bites, its effect is near impossible to shake. As I reflect on two decades in the travel industry—a career that’s taken me from sun-kissed Mediterranean shores to the sparkling Alpine heights—I can wholeheartedly agree.
An Unforgettable Beginning
My journey began just as so many dreams do: answering a call to adventure. I started as a holiday rep across the Med, living in some of Europe’s most iconic destinations and dedicating every day to crafting unforgettable holidays for my guests. Early mornings, late nights, impromptu excursions… it was a whirlwind, genuinely fuelled by the joy of seeing people fall in love with new places.
Leading the Way Across the Med
From those first seasons, my path led me to become a Resort Manager with Thomas Cook. My career with them was a ride through a treasure trove of destinations. Gran Canaria’s endless sand dunes, the golden coasts of Mallorca, the storied streets of Cyprus, the infectious energy of Ibiza, the emerald isles of Corfu and Zante—each destination had its own magic and I had the privilege of calling them home.
As Resort Manager, I learned the true meaning of connection: not just to local culture and landscapes, but to the people at the heart of every journey. Whether it was welcoming families for an annual getaway or guiding first-time explorers off the beaten path, I cherished every moment spent making holidays seamless and special.
Chasing Alpine Dreams
When Thomas Cook’s journey ended, I chose to chase a lifelong dream: mountains! I joined Inghams as a Resort Manager and swapped beaches for the snow-dusted peaks of Les Arcs and Tignes. There was something extraordinary about waking up to powdery slopes and crisp mountain air—and yes, spending lockdown in Courchevel was an unexpected highlight (and privilege) in an unusual year.
Ski seasons revealed new joys: the camaraderie of chalet life, the thrill of first tracks at dawn, and the reward of seeing guests awaken lifelong passions for the mountains.
Returning Home—with Travel Still in My Soul
Eventually, the inevitable came: a move back to the UK. I dabbled in “normal” life, but no career could compete with the vibrancy, unpredictability, and pure excitement of the world of travel. It soon became clear—I belong here.
A New Chapter: My Own Travel Business
Today, I am absolutely delighted to turn my passion and expertise into something deeply personal: my own travel business. I know how daunting it can feel when planning a complex holiday or pursuing that bucket-list experience, and that’s where I shine. My mission? To use my genuine, first-hand knowledge to take the stress out of travel—and to make every journey you take absolutely unforgettable.
