London Break by Penny Howells

Weekend break in London for myself and husband, we travelled to London from Stockport with Virgin trains, all on time and a great service, the reason for our break was to see and celebrate Remembrance Sunday and the poppies display at Tower of London which we had bought our very own hand-made ceramic poppy.

As you can see, we finally saw the poppies, both on Sat night and early Sunday morning. Absolutely amazing and well worth going down for. Our hotel "Guoman Tower Hotel" couldn't have been more convenient, we got a high floor and a wonderful view of Tower Bridge and the Thames.

It did rain which was a shame as we went to Greenwich by boat, but we still enjoyed it and it was fine and sunny on Sunday. We went down to Whitehall but couldn't get near the Cenotaph so went on to Horse Guards Parade and saw everyone marching there. It was lovely to have been part of it! Very moving experience.

Well worth a visit to see.
