Our secret to keeping every day fresh? Packing thoughtfully—with plenty of activities to ignite our imaginations. Paint-by-numbers kits from home became the centrepiece of our own “sip and paint” afternoons: wine in hand, brushes moving, ocean views as far as the eye could see. I also slipped puzzle books, novels, and classic games into our luggage, plus extra craft supplies for those moments when inspiration struck.

The Joy of Rubber Duck Hide & Seek

Our most mischievous tradition, however, was bringing along a handful of colourful rubber ducks. Throughout the cruise, we tucked them into clever hiding places around the ship, all part of a friendly, unspoken competition with our fellow guests. Each day we delighted in both hiding our ducks and hunting for those left behind by other imaginative cruisers. It’s amazing how much simple joy you can find in a childhood game—especially when the prize might pop up anywhere, from bookshelf alcoves to the sun deck.
