Our Magical Disneyland Paris Adventure
How We Travelled We took the Eurostar from St Pancras over to Gare du Nord, then the RER from Gare du Nord to Disneyland. We had to change once during the journey, but it was so easy to navigate and very cheap to travel. We upgraded to Plus on the Eurostar which included comfier seats and a meal. They catered very well for my family's dietary requirements.
Where We Stayed We kicked off our adventure with a night at the Explorers Hotel, a fun and family-friendly hotel just off-site. It was the perfect place to start our trip, with pirate-themed decor, a great pool area, and a relaxed vibe that got us in the Disney spirit right away.
After that, we moved to the beautiful Disney’s Newport Bay Club for two nights. This stunning lakeside hotel, styled like a New England seaside mansion, was just a short walk from the parks. The nautical theme, spacious rooms, and early park access made it a truly magical stay. We used the shuttle service for the first day whilst we found our feet, we then walked into the parks, in less than 10 minutes you're in the Disney Village.
Shows That Stole the Spotlight We made sure to catch some of Disneyland Paris’ most iconic shows—and they did not disappoint!
The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands – A powerful, high-energy performance with incredible vocals and choreography. It's my favourite Disney movie and was truly magical and emotional. Frozen: A Musical Invitation – A heart-warming experience that brought Arendelle to life. Mickey and the Magician – A dazzling mix of magic and Disney classics that had us completely spellbound. Mickey’s PhilharMagic – A 4D musical journey through Disney’s greatest hits—fun for all ages! Full of laughter and fun.
Ride Highlights We made the most of every moment in the parks and tried as many rides as we could. While we loved them all, a few stood out as our absolute favourites:
Ratatouille: The Adventure – A delightful 4D ride that shrinks you down to the size of a rat and takes you on a wild chase through Gusteau’s kitchen. Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast – A fun, interactive ride where we teamed up to defeat Emperor Zurg. We enjoyed trying to beat our score each time. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue – A thrilling journey through the Star Wars galaxy with unexpected twists every time.
Final Thoughts From the moment we arrived to the last firework-lit night, Disneyland Paris delivered magic in every detail. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning fan, there’s always something new to discover.
If you’re planning a trip, I highly recommend mixing an off-site stay with a couple of nights in a Disney hotel for the best of both worlds. And don’t miss the shows—they truly bring the Disney magic to life!
