Christmas Lodge
Weybread
In December 2025, we stayed at our usual lodge site (of which there are 5 lodges around a fishing lake), however our usual lodge had boiler issues so we were placed into Larch Lodge which I have to say was extremely nice and I would definitely recommend.
Larch Lodge is still a log cabin with luxurious fixtures and décor, still with the same sauna and hot tub, underfloor heating and Bluetooth system throughout.
They are for couples only, no pets and in a very tranquil setting, you can fish from your verandah or just relax with the peace and quiet, you do need a car as the nearest town is Harleston which is approx a 1 5 min drive away.
As we relax here over Christmas we pop out every so often and this we visited the following different places to get out and explore a little:
Framlingham - 25 min drive from Weybread

You can visit Framlingham Castle, which is quite impressive, there are independent shops, a church, pubs and cafes in the town and it has a nice feel about it.
Beccles - 28 min drive from Weybread

This is the start of the Norfolk Broads where you can hire boats and stroll alongside the river and the marina.
Pretty town with Georgian architecture and a Tower in the high street. Lots of independent shops, large church and a nice way to spend a couple of hours away from the lodge.
Definitely worth a little trip out for some fresh air.
Lowestoft - 44 min drive from Weybread
As a visit, I would give this a miss to be honest, run down coastal town and not a great experience.
Norwich – 40 min drive from Weybread
Busy large town centre and we always go to the cinema here if something good is on, it has an Odeon Luxe which are the recliner seats.
Southwold – approx 40 min drive from Weybread
Southwold is a picture-perfect destination on the Suffolk coast, loved for its pastel beach huts, iconic pier and independent shops. We enjoyed a lovely stroll on the sandy beach, browsed the boutique shops and had hot chocolate and cakes in a local café.
The famous Adnams distillery is here as well.
Absolutely the best place to visit when staying in Weybread.
I highly recommend these lodges, everything you need is there and the facilities are top-notch.
If you fancy a UK get away on the Norfolk/Suffolk border and you like a luxurious log cabin, then this is the place for you.
