Lapland Adventure February 2026

Levi, Lapland

Claire Summers on 01 Feb 2026

Lapland is an adults playground, it's not just for children.

In February 2026, we returned to Levi, Lapland and again did the Husky Ride, Snowmobile and Reindeer Safari as it was so good last time. We also did some extra excursions as you will read about below.

I hope you enjoy this video of our time there:

If you go to my Lapland February 2025 Travel Blog, this has information from before and some hints and tips about the town itself.

Accommodation

We stayed in a Log Cabin again as the space and relaxed self-catering style suits us, it was a different one from last time.

Exterior Log Cabin

Interior Log Cabin

They are all slightly different as they have different owners, for instance this year there was no upstairs extra toilet, the kitchen was older in style but on the plus side we were better located and slightly closer to  town.

Extra Excursions

The additional extras we booked this year were Ice Karting (through the Tour Op) and electric fat bikes with an excursion company in Levi centre.

E-Fat Bikes

E-fat Bikes

The company (Kelo) provided helmets and we set off into the forest on the already created routes, so it wasn't hard terrain.

The e-bikes made light work of any hills and it was an easy comfortable ride. We witnessed an atmospheric red cloud formation and it was just magical snowy scenery all the way.

We went out for around 2 hours and I would highly recommend doing this.

Ice Karting

2 x 15 minute sessions.

Wow! This is a must do, you catch the free shuttle bus in Levi Centre and within 15 minutes you are at the venue. They have a lovely warm cafe on site where you can view the tracks. They also have some small snow tubing slides and a VR experience but the main attraction is the karting.

 Ice Karting

You are given gloves, balaclava, thermal suit plus boots if you want to wear them or keep your own boots on.

No fuss, quick 2 min video and you are out. In between sessions, you have a hot berry juice and stand by the open fire. 15 minutes seems like a long time when you are driving and the 2nd time you go round the track, you drive in the opposite direction.

It was brilliant (no madness on the track as I have experienced on non-ice karting  tracks), just everyone getting to grips with the sliding and enjoying their time.

Free Time

The beauty of going for a week is you can relax and have some free days, on one of our days  we followed one of the Forest Trails for a 2 hour walk just behind the ski slopes.  The pathway is easy to follow as the snow is prepared and compacted down making it easy to walk on. Some of it was the same trail as the e-fat bikes.

Snowy Forest

The Levi Information centre, which you can find on the main roundabout, has all the info you need to tell you where to start the walk and a map with the different routes depending on your difficulty level and time you want to be out.

We saw the Northern Lights too which was a bonus, we left our cabin around 10.30pm one night and walked to the Lake (this is  the best spot in town for less light pollution). For a better viewing experience you need to get out of town and there are plenty of excursions you can book onto.

Aurora Borealis at the Lake

The temperatures were great for us during our week ranging from -7 to -16, which is very manageable with some hand and feet warmers on some days/activities, these are must have items to keep you nice and warm.

Going back again it didn’t disappoint and we can’t wait to hopefully go back again next year.
