Whenever I tell someone what I do for a living, I usually get a funny look followed by, "Wait... do people still use travel agents?" It turns out there are still a lot of outdated ideas floating around about our industry.

People picture 1990s high-street shops with walls covered in paper brochures; however, what the reality of a modern travel expert means is we are more like lifestyle concierges, tech-savvy researchers, and your personal holiday bodyguard all rolled into one.

So, I’ll spill the tea and bust the three biggest myths about booking with a travel agent once and for all… and why you most certainly need one in your life for the forseeable!

Myth #1: "Booking with an agent is way more expensive."<

This is the granddaddy of all travel myths! People assume that adding a human to the equation means the price skyrockets.

In reality, we have access to exclusive, industry-only rates, hotel perks, and flight packages that you simply cannot find on public booking sites.

More often than not, we can match or beat the prices you find online while adding massive extra value like free breakfasts, room upgrades, or resort credits. Hello, ocean-view rooms and private sunset dinners!
