Oceania Vista - The Cruise Ship That Felt Just Right

The best way I can describe Vista is that everything felt just right.

She is a luxurious, mid-sized ship carrying around 1,200 guests, so she is large enough to provide plenty of choice but small enough to feel relaxed, spacious and personal. There are no crowds, endless queues or thousands of passengers trying to do the same thing at once.

You won’t find water slides, climbing walls, enormous casinos or trapeze artists flying above your head. In fact, the beautiful library is bigger than the casino, which probably tells you everything you need to know about the atmosphere on board!

Likewise, if your idea of a cruise revolves around spectacular West End-style productions and big headline entertainment, Oceania may not be the right choice. Entertainment is more understated, with live music, smaller productions, talks and plenty of comfortable places in which to enjoy a drink.

For us, however, it was perfect. Vista felt elegant without being stuffy, luxurious without being over the top and wonderfully grown-up without ever feeling dull.

Dining has always been at the heart of Oceania Cruises, and Vista takes it to another level.

The ship offers an excellent choice of restaurants, from the beautiful Grand Dining Room and relaxed Terrace Café to a collection of superb speciality venues. These include:

Polo Grill for steaks and classic American dishes

Toscana for Italian cuisine

Red Ginger for contemporary Asian food

Ember for modern American favourites

Jacques, inspired by legendary chef Jacques Pépin

Aqua mar Kitchen for lighter, wellness-focused dishes

There is no extra charge to dine in Oceania’s speciality restaurants, although reservations are required.

Relaxed Luxury at a Sensible Price

What also impresses me about Oceania is the value.

These are beautiful, luxurious ships with excellent food and genuinely attentive service, but without the enormous price tags sometimes associated with traditional ultra-luxury cruising. That is one of the reasons Oceania has become so popular with my clients.
