Majorca holiday

Our June holiday this year took us back to Majorca, but to a different part to where we’ve stayed before.

After a short flight, we collected our hire car and drove 50 minutes to Cala Egos on the outskirts of Cala D’Or, situated on the east coast of Majorca.

We stayed in a villa which was in a peaceful area and gave us plenty of space to relax around the pool.

There was a good selection of restaurants, including tapas, in Cala Egos which was within 15 minutes’ walking distance or an even bigger choice in Cala D’Or itself, which was a 5 minute drive away.

We visited the pretty harbour of nearby Porto Petro, which offered some alternative restaurants and is quieter than Cala D’Or. We also drove to Cala D’Or Marina, which was larger than I expected, but nice to walk along, with restaurants on each side of the harbour and some big, expensive looking boats to nosey at!

If you don’t have a car, there is a tourist land train that drives around the area, as well as taxis.

There are some lovely sandy coves in Cala D’Or, including Cala Ferrera, Cala Gran and Cala Esmeralda, and the sea looked very inviting.

We had a great time in the sunshine, and no doubt will be back to Majorca again in the future.

If you want any more information on Cala D’Or or Majorca, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
