Some birthdays deserve more than just a celebration, they deserve unforgettable memories, new experiences, and precious time spent with the people you love most. This year, I was lucky enough to experience exactly that with my daughter on an incredible journey through Dubai, Mauritius, and South Africa.

Our adventure began with a three-night stop in dazzling Dubai, the perfect place to start our trip. From the moment we arrived, the energy of the city was exciting and luxurious, offering the perfect mix of sunshine, beautiful hotels, amazing restaurants, and unforgettable views. It was the ideal opportunity to relax, celebrate, and enjoy some special mother-and-daughter time before heading to our next destination.

From Dubai, we travelled to beautiful Mauritius, where we stayed at the stunning Sugar Beach Mauritius. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff made us feel so welcome and truly went above and beyond throughout our stay, it’s one of those places that instantly feels special.

Mauritius completely captured our hearts. The island is everything you dream of and more with crystal-clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the trip was going whale watching, an experience that felt truly magical and emotional. Watching these incredible creatures in their natural habitat is something I’ll never forget. Evenings were spent enjoying the spectacular sunsets at Flic en Flac Beach, where the sky turned the most beautiful shades of orange and pink.

We also enjoyed horse riding along the beach, which felt like something from a dream, and took part in a perfume-making experience that was such a unique and memorable activity. Another unforgettable moment was swimming in the clear blue waters alongside turtles, one of those travel experiences that stays with you forever.

After our relaxing island escape, we continued on to South Africa for the final part of our birthday adventure, a four-night safari stay at the beautiful Lush Private Game Lodge in Pilanesberg National Park.

Safari has always been on my bucket list, and it exceeded every expectation. We headed out on several game drives with our lovely guide, Avi, whose knowledge and passion made the experience even more special. Seeing the Big Five in the wild was absolutely incredible, those are the moments that remind you just how amazing our world really is.

One evening, the team arranged the most beautiful private birthday dinner on our terrace. Surrounded by nature, under the African sky, it was the perfect way to celebrate and reflect on such an unforgettable journey together.

This trip was so much more than just a holiday. It was about creating memories, experiencing new adventures, and spending quality time together in some of the world’s most beautiful destinations.
