Which cruise are you?
The right cruise is a personality match, which cruise are you?
Forget everything you think decides your perfect cruise. Not your age. Not even your budget, not really. After a glorious run of stepping onboard some of the most beautiful ships at sea, the truth I keep coming back to is this: the right cruise is a personality match. It is about how you want to feel when you wake to a new view each morning, and the kind of stories you want to be telling at dinner for years afterwards. Get comfortable, and meet your people. Which one are you?

Forget everything you think decides your perfect cruise. Not your age. Not even your budget, not really. It is about how you want to feel when you wake to a new view each morning, and the kind of stories you want to be telling at dinner for years afterwards.
Get comfortable, and meet your people. Which one are you?

The Luxury Lover
You want to be looked after, beautifully. Whether your idea of heaven is a sprawling suite with a butler who appears before you have to ask, or a small, serene ship where the service is near silent and the design is good enough to steal, this is the world of effortless, all inclusive luxury where you never have to lift a finger.

Made for you: at the grand, spoil me senseless end, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn, Silversea and Crystal, with Oceania flying the flag for some of the finest food at sea. For something smaller and more intimate, Windstar, Azamara and the gorgeous newcomer Explora Journeys feel more like a private yacht than a cruise ship. And the most exciting thing in luxury travel right now? The great hotel names have taken to the water. Following Ritz Carlton, which set sail in 2022, Four Seasons launched its first yacht in March 2026 and Orient Express has just begun sailing the world's largest sailing yacht, with Aman to follow in 2027. Tiny, exquisite, and quietly selling out to those in the know before the rest of the world has even heard. Exactly the kind of access I love arranging.
The Explorer

You would rather kayak past a glacier than queue at a buffet. You want zodiacs, naturalists, polar light and the places the big ships simply cannot reach. Just be honest with yourself about which kind of explorer you are.
For the wild with a soft landing, plush cabins and a proper dinner after a day in the zodiacs, this is luxury expedition. Made for you: HX, Quark Expeditions, Lindblad Expeditions in partnership with National Geographic, and Aurora Expeditions. For the truly rugged sort who wants the adventure itself to be the luxury, layers over loungewear and authenticity over thread count, your ship is altogether more intrepid. Made for you: G Adventures, G Expedition ship, for people who measure a trip by how far off the map it took them.

The Culture Vulture
The destination is the whole reason you are going. You want to stay late in port, dig into the history, eat where the locals eat and come home a little bit changed. Cabarets and casinos leave you cold.
Made for you: Viking, brilliant for cultural enrichment with no children and no fuss, and Azamara, which lingers longer in port and overnights where others dash off. Silversea and Oceania belong here too.

The Showstopper
You want energy. Shows that rival the West End, a band worth staying up for, and somewhere buzzing every single night. A sea day for you is a packed schedule, not a lie down.
Made for you: Royal Caribbean, the undisputed king of spectacle, with ice rinks, aqua theatres and the most jaw dropping ships afloat, and Norwegian Cruise Line for its freestyle energy, Broadway calibre shows and a properly buzzing nightlife.

The Modern Luxe
You want polish without the pomp. Beautiful design you would happily steal for your own home, elevated dining, a cocktail that arrives looking like art, and a crowd that is stylish rather than stuffy. This is the chic, grown up sweet spot.
Made for you: Celebrity, in a class of its own here, with gorgeous design led ships, genuinely excellent food and The Retreat, a suite only world within the ship for when you fancy turning the luxury all the way up. All the premium polish without the ultra luxury price tag, which is exactly why so many people fall for it.

The Family Ringleader
You want everyone happy, including you. Children gleefully busy, a teenager who emerges from the cabin smiling, grandparents comfortable, and a quiet corner where you can finally exhale. This one is less about the late night shows and more about the clever machinery of keeping every generation content at once.
Made for you: Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line are the masters of it, with age split kids clubs, waterparks, teen only hangouts and connecting cabins. For pure magic, especially with little ones, nobody touches Disney Cruise Line, with unforgettable character moments and world class theming, plus adult only restaurants and pools so the grown ups get a breather too. Princess is lovely for a gentler pace, MSC a strong value choice for bigger groups, and the new hotel brands at sea now offer suite pricing that lets the family share rather than book separate cabins.

The Grown Ups Escape
No children, no chaos. You want to feel like the most glamorous version of yourself, with great music, great cocktails and great company your own age.
Made for you: the truly adults only set. Virgin Voyages is strictly eighteen plus with a festival of fun energy that is converting lifelong cruise sceptics. Viking is firmly grown up, with no under eighteens and a cultured, casino free calm. And Oceania joined them in January 2026, going adults only across the whole fleet. Azamara is not officially adults only, but with no children's clubs it tends to feel every bit as grown up.

The Old World Romantic
You were born for an occasion. You love a gala night, dressing for dinner, afternoon tea served properly, and the idea of crossing an ocean the grand old way with absolutely nowhere to be.
Made for you: Cunard, and only Cunard. The last word in heritage glamour and the only true transatlantic crossing left in the world. You do not simply book it. You become a Cunarder.

Whatever You Already Love
Have a line you adore that I have not name checked above? Wonderful. Cruising is a big and brilliant world, and every one of these ships has its devoted fans for very good reason. Whether your heart belongs to MSC, P&O, Ambassador, Fred Olsen or anywhere else entirely, I will book it for you with exactly the same care and the same eye for the little details that make it yours. The whole point of working with me is that the trip is built around you, never around a favourites list.
And Where Are You Dreaming Of?
One lovely complication. Your personality tells you the kind of cruise you are, but your destination often decides the exact ship. For Alaska, you want a line that has spent decades perfecting it, which is where Holland America comes into its own, with acclaimed live music, lovely dining and a real feel for the great wild north. For the Mediterranean and its endless cities, the boutique and destination lines linger exactly where it matters. For Norway, the fjords and the polar ends of the earth, your expedition specialists are in their element. And for pure warm water bliss, the big resort ships do sunshine and space like nobody else.

Tell me where you are dreaming of, and I will marry the place to the personality.
One Last Plot Twist
There is one more cruise type I am saving for its own story, because it deserves the spotlight. Imagine playing world class golf courses by day and stepping back onboard your floating clubhouse by night, with someone else handling every transfer, tee time and club clean. If a beautiful fairway and a beautiful sunset is your idea of a perfect day, that one is coming next, and you are going to love it.

So, Which One Are You?
Maybe you knew yourself instantly. Maybe you are a glorious mix of three. And if you are brand new to all this and not sure where to begin, that is the easiest conversation of all to have. Knowing how you want to feel is the whole secret, and it is the best part of my job to take it from there.

Tell me which one you are, let me find the ship that's made for you to cruise away.
