5 Amazing Days on Royal Caribbean's Brand-New Legend of the Seas

Claire Worsnop on 29 Jun 2026

I recently had the pleasure of spending five incredible days onboard Legend of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's newest Icon Class ship, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation I had. From world-class entertainment and fantastic dining to endless activities and beautiful spaces to relax, every day brought something new to discover.

Entertainment That Blew Me Away

Royal Caribbean is renowned for its entertainment, but the shows onboard Legend of the Seas are on another level. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was a brilliant Broadway-style production, with incredible performances, colourful costumes and stunning sets that brought the classic story to life. It genuinely felt like watching a West End show at sea. However, the standout performance for me was Shockwave, the Aqua Show. I can honestly say I've never seen anything like it. Combining breathtaking high dives, aerial acrobatics, synchronised swimming, incredible choreography and spectacular visual effects, it had the audience on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. Every performance left me wondering how the cast could possibly top the last stunt!

Top Tip 💦 If you're planning to watch Shockwave, grab a seat in the Splash Zone right at the front. Yes, you'll get soaked... but you'll also get the best view in the house! Being so close to the action makes the whole experience even more immersive, and I'd choose those seats every single time.

So Much to See and Do

One of the best things about Legend of the Seas is that you can make your holiday exactly what you want it to be.

If you're after thrills, there's the iconic FlowRider surf simulator, where you can test your surfing skills or simply enjoy watching others give it a go! The water slides are brilliant fun too, offering plenty of excitement for both adults and children.

For something a little more relaxed, challenge your family to a game of mini golf, spend time by one of the many pools, or simply wander around the ship discovering all the different neighbourhoods. One of my favourite hidden gems was The Overlook. With its huge panoramic windows overlooking the ocean, it's the perfect place to escape the crowds, grab a coffee, read a book or simply sit and watch the world go by. It's peaceful, comfortable and one of the best spots onboard to truly relax.

Food to Suit Every Taste

One thing you'll never go hungry for onboard Legend of the Seas is choice! The complimentary dining options are fantastic. One of my favourite lunchtime discoveries was the hot roast beef sandwiches from Central Park Café, they're an absolute must try and quickly became one of my favourite onboard lunches. I also loved the traditional waiter service in the Main Dining Room for both breakfast and dinner. It's such a lovely way to start and end your day, with attentive service, beautifully presented food and plenty of choice on the menus. If you're looking to treat yourself, there's no shortage of speciality dining venues either.

From premium restaurants to unique dining experiences, there's something for everyone. One venue that really stood out was Legend Station, offering another fantastic option to add to your cruise dining experience. A Bar for Every Mood Whether you're looking for a quiet drink or lively evening entertainment,

Legend of the Seas has an incredible variety of bars and lounges. One hidden gem is the Trellis Bar in Central Park. Tucked amongst the trees and gardens, it's peaceful, relaxing and the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail surrounded by nature. Our personal favourite, though, had to be the Schooner Bar, overlooking the Royal Promenade. It quickly became our go-to spot for pre-dinner drinks while soaking up the lively atmosphere below.

The nightlife doesn't stop there either. You can enjoy live music at the duelling pianos, dance into the early hours at the onboard nightclubs, or sip a frozen cocktail at one of the Lime & Coconut bars while enjoying the sunshine on deck.

My Favourite Place Onboard Without a doubt, my favourite part of the ship was Central Park. It's hard to believe you're on one of the world's largest cruise ships when you're sitting amongst thousands of real plants and trees, listening to birdsong and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It offers a welcome escape from the excitement elsewhere onboard and quickly became my favourite place to relax with a coffee or evening drink. Royal Caribbean has somehow managed to create a tranquil oasis in the middle of a mega ship, and it's one of the things that makes Legend of the Seas so special.

Final Thoughts My five days onboard Legend of the Seas were nothing short of incredible. From spectacular entertainment and outstanding dining to beautiful spaces, exceptional service and endless things to do, Royal Caribbean has once again raised the bar for cruising. Whether you're travelling as a couple, with friends or as a family, there truly is something for everyone onboard, from surfing on the FlowRider, racing down the water slides, enjoying a roast beef sandwich in Central Park Café, watching the breathtaking Shockwave Aqua Show from the Splash Zone, or simply unwinding in The Overlook, every day offers something different.

If you're considering booking Legend of the Seas, my advice is simple...DO IT!

Royal Caribbean really knows how to create unforgettable holidays, and I genuinely believe everyone should experience a Royal Caribbean cruise at least once in their lifetime. For me, Legend of the Seas wasn't just a cruise, it was an experience I'll never forget, and one I can't wait to repeat.AnchorShockwaveLegendThe OverlookThe PearlSkippers HouseThe PearlTC TedBritish PubCentral ParkCharlie and the Chocolate FactoryWelcome Aboard
