10 Years Of Ikos: Why My Family Keeps Going Back To These Incredible Resorts

For the past decade, Ikos has been at the heart of our family holidays. What started as “let’s try this new resort in Greece” has turned into a real love story with a brand that, in my view, has completely redefined the all‑inclusive experience.

Over the last 10 years my family and I have watched the Ikos collection grow, evolve and spread across the Mediterranean, and I’ve been lucky enough to experience that journey both as a mum and as an Ikos specialist who books these resorts for my own clients.

Our First Ikos: A Toddler, Corfu Sunshine And A New Standard

Our very first Ikos experience was at Ikos Dassia in Corfu, when my daughter was just two years old. Travelling with a toddler can be a little daunting, but from the moment we arrived I realised this was going to be different.

What really stood out:

• Beautiful, contemporary rooms that still feel cosy and practical with children

That trip set the bar incredibly high. I remember thinking: there isn’t another all‑inclusive concept quite like this. And to this day, I still feel the same. Ikos’ “Infinite Lifestyle” approach to all‑inclusive is on a different level, with the quality of food, drinks and service you would expect from a luxury hotel, but wrapped in that effortless, relaxed, everything‑is‑taken‑care‑of feeling.

How The Ikos Collection Has Grown

Since that first stay, Ikos has expanded impressively, and I have done my best to keep up with it all personally. As well as Dassia, I have stayed at:

The only Greek Ikos I haven’t personally experienced yet is Ikos Kissamos, which is very much on my list.

Beyond Greece, Ikos has moved into Spain, with Ikos Porto Petro in Mallorca and Ikos Andalusia on the Costa del Sol, and there is also a brand‑new Ikos opening in Portugal soon. Watching the brand grow out of Greece and into the wider Mediterranean has been really exciting, especially knowing how much my clients love it.

“They’re All The Same”… Or Are They?

On the surface, Ikos resorts do share a signature style:

• Elegant, fresh interiors
• Excellent à la carte restaurants with menus created by Michelin‑starred chefs
• Quality branded drinks and cocktails included
• Beautiful pools and beachfront settings
• Activities, kids’ clubs and evening entertainment with a very polished feel

However, having stayed at so many of them, I actually think each Ikos has its own personality and suits different types of travellers. The details really matter: the layout, the feel of the beach, the surrounding area and the overall atmosphere.

A few examples of how I “matchmake” my clients with the right Ikos:

• Some resorts feel perfect for young families who want everything close by and very easy
• Others are ideal for older children and teens, with more space, extra activities and a slightly more grown‑up vibe
