Whether it is 800 or 1,000 years old, it is undoubtedly ancient, rising over 16 metres high with a vast sculptural trunk that makes it feel like something from a fairy tale.

On the island of Tresco, Tresco Abbey Garden is often described as “Kew Gardens without the glass”: a sub‑tropical haven where around 20,000 plants from more than 80 countries thrive in the open air.
