Magical Maldives
Each year I am invited on an annual Gold trip, a celebration for those of us in the top 10% of the company for sales, client retention and new business. I never take this for granted and it is only possible because of my wonderful clients. So a heartfelt thank you: I am genuinely grateful for your trust and loyalty, and I hope I can continue to create many more amazing holidays for you.
This year’s Gold trip was hosted by Travel Counsellors in partnership with some of our fantastic partners: RSSC, Celebrity, Atmosphere and Hummingbird.
We stayed at the brand-new OBLU Xperience Ailafushi and I also had the chance to visit VARU by Atmosphere and OBLU NATURE Helengeli.
Each resort was beautifully different, but all shared the same signature Maldivian magic: pristine white sand, lush greenery and some of the brightest aquamarine water I have ever seen. The food was a real highlight: if you love fresh tuna, seafood and high-quality international cuisine, you would be in heaven here. Snorkelling and diving are excellent around these islands too, with plenty of marine life, but if you simply want to switch off and relax, they are just as perfect.
A real standout experience was the underwater restaurant at Ailafushi. Dining while surrounded by colourful fish and coral was truly unforgettable and felt incredibly special.
I flew with Qatar Airways via Doha and the connections were very smooth both ways. I upgraded to premium on the inbound flight, which I can highly recommend: the additional space, comfort and service made a long journey feel so much more relaxing and was worth every penny. On arrival into Malé it is just a short walk to the seaplane and speedboat terminals, which keeps the onward transfer process simple and stress-free.
