Christmas in the Arctic Circle
A Different Kind of Christmas
This Hurtigruten expedition became exactly what my client was hoping for: a Christmas that was calm, meaningful and full of “wow” moments rather than “must‑dos”. Instead of crowded shops and busy kitchens, she had :Snowy fjords and Arctic towns , The thrill of crossing the Arctic Circle , Multiple sightings of the Northern Lights , The freedom to spend Christmas entirely on her own terms.
Christmas Day itself was wonderfully low‑key. The ship was tastefully decorated with soft lights and greenery, and the crew served traditional Norwegian festive dishes. There was no pressure to do anything in particular: she could join in as much or as little as she wished.
If you are a solo traveller and this sounds like your kind of festive season, I would be delighted to help you plan your own Christmas expedition along the beautiful winter coast of Norway.
