Fancy exploring Europe by boat or using a water taxi to get about? Now you can and it's easier than you think.

This summer Uber is making waves with a new Uber Boat service, launched in partnership with Click&Boat which will let travellers reserve boat trips directly in the Uber app across 23 coastal cities in Portugal, France, Spain, Italy and Croatia. With more than 55,000 vessels the service will include themed experiences like sunset cruises, water-sports outings and days to hidden coves, all with a skipper - so no licence or experience is required.

The pilot aims to bring boating into everyday mobility, offering flexible, shorter outings that sit somewhere between a traditional excursion and a full - day charter, perfect for those social media pics or a spontaneous coastal escape.

Cities on the list include Split, Dubrovnik, Saint - Tropez, Nice, Mallorca and Barcelona.

Uber is not new to water transport, it previously partnered with Thames Clippers in London but this Europe -wide roll out could open up islands, coves and waterfront experiences for more travellers without the hassle of booking specialist charters.

Prices start from around 250 Euros per day with some options up to 3,000 Euros depending on the boat, destination, season and group size. For London travel, fares start from just £6.20 for an adult ticket on Uber Boat by Thames Clippers.
