And, truthfully, now is a lovely time to go: while the area is still relatively low-rise and refined, before it inevitably grows.

The wider Anda site has been around for roughly 25 years, but the current hotel product is only around three years old, which shows in every corner:

• You do not get that Antalya feeling of one huge resort blending into the next. Instead, Anda feels like a self-contained estate with space to breathe.

Even at around 85% occupancy during inspection, with about 50% occupancy in the villa area, it did not feel overly busy or claustrophobic.

Service is warm and generally very good, with helpful staff and touches like waiter service to sunbeds. It is relaxed and friendly rather than ultra-formal, which suits the resort’s overall character.

Didim: a developing luxury pocket on the Aegean

Location is a big part of Anda’s appeal.

You are in Didim, on Turkey’s Aegean coast, an area that is quietly attracting more design-led, higher-end hotels, without yet feeling overbuilt. Think:

• Easy access from Bodrum and Izmir airports, with a transfer quoted at around 60 minutes depending on routing.
• Close proximity to the Temple of Apollo, a fascinating historical site for a half-day outing.
• A public beach and promenade nearby, with local cafés, bars and shops for a more authentic slice of Turkish seaside life.

Crucially, what you do not have here (at least not yet) is that Antalya-style wall of large hotels stretching along the coast. It feels more open, more human in scale. If you like to feel that your resort has its own identity and outlook, rather than being one more stop along a mega-strip, Didim is a refreshing change.

There is also a sense that this is the time to go: luxury is moving in, but the area still feels like it has room to grow rather than having already peaked.

Rooms and suites: clean lines and family flexibility

Accommodation at Anda Barut Collection echoes the resort’s modern feel: sleek, contemporary and designed with both privacy and practicality in mind.

Standard and family options

• The 2+1 Lead In Twin Bed Deluxe is the standard family-friendly option, ideal for a smaller family happy to share one main space.
• The Family Suite is effectively two rooms side by side, sold as one unit in the system:
• There is a glass door between the balconies, which gives a shared outdoor feel while still allowing privacy.
• There is a pull-out bed allowing for a fifth person, helpful for families with three children or occasional grandparents joining.

From a value perspective, Anda is appealing for families:

• In some pricing setups, children stay free up to age 12, and
• A third person receives a discount, which makes that extra bed less painful on the budget.

Penthouses and private pools

If you want to step up a notch, there are Penthouse Suites with private pools in all three resort zones. These work very well for couples wanting some extra indulgence or families with teens who like the idea of a private plunge pool without committing to a full villa.

Tech-forward rooms

One thing to be aware of is the strong tech focus:

• Many services, including menus, are accessed via QR codes rather than printed menus.
• In-room tech and controls are fairly central to how the rooms work.

For some guests this feels modern and convenient; others may miss the tactile feel of a room service menu or wine list. It is not a problem, but it is worth knowing in advance if you prefer more traditional touches.

Bayou Villas: resort living with extra privacy
