Tuk Into India

Kerry Latham on 16 May 2026

A fabulous trip to Indias Golden Triangle.

After the teams weeks of planning, counting down and excitement building, my India adventure with Titan Travel and Virgin Atlantic finally began. My brand new passport even got its very first stamp as I headed to Heathrow ready for the trip of a lifetime.

Arriving at London Heathrow Airport, we were welcomed into the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Wing and given a tour of the incredible departure lounge. It was luxurious in every way and the perfect way to begin the journey.

Following a very turbulent flight and only around an hour of sleep, I landed in Delhi absolutely exhausted — but excited. We were met by our lovely Titan tour hosts and transferred by air-conditioned coach through both Old Delhi and New Delhi. Seeing landmarks such as India Gate and the Presidential Palace made it all feel very real. India had already started making an impression, and it was only day one.

Our first hotel stay was at the beautiful The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi, where I was more than ready to recharge before the adventure properly began.

The next day started with a visit to a local Sikh temple. It was peaceful, welcoming and full of incredible history. From there, we headed straight into the chaos and energy of Old Delhi, taking a rickshaw ride through the buzzing streets before hopping into tuk tuks to visit the iconic India Gate.

Later, we boarded the train from Delhi to Agra, experiencing yet another side of India along the way. That evening ended perfectly with drinks at Molecule, reflecting on another unforgettable day filled with culture, colour and complete sensory overload in the best possible way.

One of the biggest highlights of the trip came the following morning when we woke before sunrise to visit the Taj Mahal. Watching the sun rise over one of the world’s most famous landmarks genuinely felt like a dream come true. It was one of those moments that no photograph could ever truly capture and a memory I’ll keep forever.

From there, we visited Agra Fort, where the history and architecture continued to amaze me. Walking around these incredible buildings made me wonder how on earth they were constructed without cranes or modern technology. It was absolutely mind-blowing.

We then travelled onwards towards Ranthambore National Park, stopping for lunch and also visiting a cow sanctuary along the way where we had the chance to feed the cows. Travelling through India brought plenty of unexpected experiences too — including locals asking to take photos with us, which definitely made us feel like celebrities for the day.

The only real challenge throughout the trip was the heat. Temperatures reached an intense 44 degrees at times, but somehow the incredible experiences outweighed even that.

Our two-night stay in Ranthambore National Park included two game drives through the reserve, both completely different but equally exciting. We spotted so much wildlife including deer, monkeys, crocodiles and countless beautiful birds.

And then finally, after lots of patience and searching, came the moment we had all been hoping for — a tiger, and she was an absolute beauty!!

Seeing a tiger in the wild was something truly special and an experience none of us will ever forget. It was a reminder that nature really does reward patience.

From Ranthambore, we continued on to Jaipur where some of the most meaningful experiences of the trip took place.

One evening, we travelled by tuk tuk through Jaipur’s chaotic rush-hour streets to visit a local family in their home. We were welcomed so warmly and treated to a cooking demonstration followed by the most incredible homemade dinner.

Sharing stories, learning traditional recipes and experiencing genuine Indian hospitality made this one of the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had while travelling. It perfectly captured what travel is really about — connection, culture and creating memories you’ll treasure forever.

During our time in Jaipur, we also explored the stunning Amber Fort, wandered through the City Palace and visited the fascinating Jantar Mantar Observatory. Of course, there was also a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.

The heat continued to test us, but every second felt worthwhile. The day ended perfectly with traditional dancing and dinner back at the hotel — the ideal ending to another unforgettable day in India.

Before leaving Jaipur, we witnessed something incredibly inspiring. Virgin Atlantic and Titan Travel gifted a pink tuk tuk to a local women’s charity through the Pink City Rickshaw initiative.

The project supports women from low-income households by training them to drive and own their own tuk tuks, helping them gain independence and provide for their families. It was amazing to see tourism creating such a positive impact within the local community.

Soon it was time for our final night back in Delhi before heading home to the UK. Thankfully, the temperature had dropped from over 40°C to a much kinder 20°C, which felt like heaven after the heat we’d experienced throughout the trip.

India completely exceeded every expectation I had. From the bustling streets and breathtaking landmarks to the wildlife, culture and unforgettable people we met along the way, every single day brought something new.

It was chaotic, beautiful, exhausting, inspiring and unforgettable all at once — and without a doubt, one of the most incredible adventures I’ve ever experienced.

Until next time.....
