A week exploring Anglesey 🐾

It’s been a few days since we got home from my first proper visit to Anglesey, and I already know I need to go back.

We based ourselves in a cottage near Benllech for the week, me, Beth and Dougie, plus Buster, Lola and Ralph. Three adults, three dogs and absolutely no intention of rushing around trying to see everything.

And actually, chilling in the cottage ranks VERY highly amongst my favourite bits. 😂

We still managed to explore a fair chunk of the island though.

Beaumaris was lovely. Gorgeous little streets, the castle, waterfront and those views across the Menai Strait.

Moelfre was probably my surprise of the week. Such a lovely little village and bay and somewhere I hadn't really thought much about before we went. I loved it. ❤️

We explored beaches, spotted Highland cows, visited the windmill, ate doughnuts, had a fabulous Sunday roast and possibly some of the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time, eaten overlooking the sea as they should be!

We also made it to Newborough. Absolutely beautiful, although the wind had other ideas about how much exploring we were going to do that day. 😆

And of course, the dogs had their own Anglesey adventure.

Buster and Lola were officially GOOSED by the end of the week. 😂 Ralph, on the other hand, would probably have happily stayed another week and carried on exploring.

There are still loads of places I wanted to see, particularly South Stack, and walks I'd love to do when I'm feeling better and can manage a bit more distance. So rather than feeling like we missed things, I've decided we simply left ourselves a very good excuse to go back.

That's one of the things I loved about Anglesey. You don't have to race around trying to see everything.

Sometimes a good holiday is beautiful scenery, good food, people you love, three tired dogs and an afternoon doing absolutely nothing in a cottage.

Anglesey, I'll definitely be back. ❤️
