Ways we care for transgender travellers

Megan O'Leary on 01 Jun 2026

Together, myself and Suvira Riza are 'Voyage-Her', inclusive travel for solo female holidaymakers, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Part of offering LGBT holidays is realising how everyone travels differently, and in this blog I cover all of the ways we specifically care for our trans passengers.

As proud sapphic travel agents, we love our trans sisters, and do our best to make their holidays as smooth and liberating as possible 🩷🩵🤍

Here’s just a couple of ways we go beyond what booking platforms ever could, to deliver you the best travel experience possible:

·         If travelling with gender-affirming care medications, we ensure travel to, and passage through countries which have legalised your prescriptions. I also ask if proximity to a local pharmacy would bring you peace of mind.

·         We check if your intended destination supports the rights of our community, and will advise if cultural or political conflict is present. We can then work together to navigate how we can both minimise risk where present, and maximise your positive travel experience.

·         Gender markers and dead-naming - We handle your official documentation with complete discretion, and push for your correct name and pronouns to be present on all possible documentation, and supplier records. We will also advise where legal protocol works against us in these efforts to prepare you ahead of time and minimise distress.

·         We do the research. From navigating in-resort single-sex spaces, to finding hotels within close proximity to local LGBT bars & restaurants... We’re at your disposal to make your trip as seamless as possible!

·         We can minimise conflict from cultural barriers by carefully selecting resorts, and hotel brands which promote inclusivity. When travelling to “less-safe” countries, I can suggest tour companies which are committed to your safety and enjoyment.

·         Saving you ‘coming out’ unnecessarily – With your blessing, we can contact your providers in advance, making sure they are aware of your preferred name and pronouns, if they differ to your government-issued documentation

This list is non-exhaustive, and we’re always taking on individual requests bespoke to each person – Be that disability assistance, neurodivergent considerations, severe allergies, or general preferences… We’ve got you
