Vietnam: Which Part Is Right for Your Holiday?

Vietnam isn’t one type of holiday. Bustling cities, lantern-lit streets, dramatic coastal scenery and relaxing beach stays all offer something different—and choosing the right combination makes all the difference.

In my video, I take you through the main areas to help you decide where to go.

Hanoi is a brilliant starting point for culture, street food and the lively atmosphere of the Old Quarter. Pair it with an overnight cruise through Ha Long Bay or Lan Ha Bay for limestone scenery and a change of pace.

Hoi An is all about charm, food and exploring its historic streets. It’s somewhere to slow down, enjoy a cooking class and linger over dinner. Nearby Da Nang offers more of a beach-and-resort feel, making it worth considering if a luxury hotel and time by the sea are high on your list.

Further south, Ho Chi Minh City brings energy, history and nightlife, with opportunities to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels or venture into the Mekong Delta. Phu Quoc can provide a relaxing beach finish after your sightseeing.

One important detail? Vietnam’s weather varies considerably from north to south. The best route for one month may not be the best for another, so your travel dates should help shape your itinerary.
