I have just been to Lapland on Saturday as a surprise trip for my daughter! It was such a lovely surprise for her to go and see Father Christmas. I have to say it was very cold and perhaps too cold for some but if you are used to ski holidays and camping I would definitely recommend this. We only did a day trip but I think it would be just as good to stay for a few nights where you can get warm by a log fire after being in the cold all day.

It's a great opportunity to see The Northern Lights too and they did make an appearance on the flight back but I was on the wrong side of the plane! Boo hoo!

We did lots of activities such as a husky ride, reindeer ride and of course seeing Santa himself. Rovanieme in Finland, where we were, crosses the Arctic Circle and we came home with a certificate to prove it.

It is truly a once in a lifetime experience.
