Magical moments to non-stop laughter!
Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida. USA
In May 2025 OI had the chance to experience Walt Disney World first hand, flying direct with Norse Airlines ad staying in the heart of the magic. It was a fantastic opportunity to explore the resorts and parks in details so that I can help you plan your own Disney adventure with confidence.
Where I Stayed: Disney’s Beach Club Resort
My base for the trip was Disney’s Beach Club Resort, one of Disney’s Deluxe properties. With its New England coastal theme, beautiful lakeside setting and an impressive pool area, it felt like a relaxing escape at the end of each busy park day.
The location is a huge advantage. From the Beach Club you can walk straight into EPCOT via the International Gateway entrance, and you are just a short boat ride or walk from Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This cut down on travel time and made it easy to pop back to the resort for a break when needed.
I travelled with a group of fellow Travel Counsellors, which meant plenty of chances to share tips and compare experiences. It also gave me a really good sense of what would work best for different types of Disney holiday.
Park Highlights
Over the course of the trip I visited all four of the main Walt Disney World theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom: Magic Kingdom delivered those classic Disney moments. Walking down Main Street, U.S.A. towards Cinderella Castle is just as special as everyone says. I also had the chance to dine at Be Our Guest, where the Beast’s castle is beautifully brought to life. It is a lovely way to add something a bit special to your Magic Kingdom day.
EPCOT: EPCOT quickly became a favourite. I absolutely loved Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, which ended up being my top ride of the trip. It is fast, fun and completely different to anything else I have experienced. After the thrills, strolling around World Showcase and sampling food and drink from different “countries” was a real highlight.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Hollywood Studios is full of big‑name attractions and immersive lands. Being so close to this park from the Beach Club made it very easy to visit, especially for evening entertainment.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Animal Kingdom combines incredible theming with some brilliant attractions. My most memorable moment here was on Expedition Everest, where I actually passed out mid‑ride. Thankfully all was well, and it has since become one of those funny holiday stories that gets retold again and again!
Beyond the Parks; No Orlando trip feels complete without a bit of shopping, so I also visited the Vineland Premium Outlets. It is a great place to pick up bargains on brands and Disney merchandise, and a nice change of pace from the parks.
