The shallow, transparent water is so clear that boats appear to float above the seabed, while soft white sand and fragrant pine trees create a setting that feels much more tropical than Mediterranean. You can while away hours swimming, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying the view.

Pasjača Beach, Croatia

Hidden beneath towering cliffs on Croatia's southern coastline, Pasjača Beach is reached via a narrow path carved into the rock. As you descend, the Adriatic gradually comes into view before revealing a small pebble beach framed by dramatic limestone cliffs. Whilst it may be a little harder to reach, the reward is a spectacular setting with incredibly clear water and a wonderfully secluded feel. Located around 40 minutes from Dubrovnik, it's an ideal stop if you're exploring southern Croatia and looking to escape the busier beaches closer to the city.

Praia dos Galapinhos, Portugal

Portugal's Algarve often steals the spotlight, but just south of Lisbon lies one of the country's best-kept coastal secrets. Set within the Arrábida Natural Park, Praia dos Galapinhos combines emerald-green hills with calm, turquoise water and golden sand. A short walk down to the beach helps preserve its peaceful atmosphere, making it feel wonderfully untouched compared to some of Portugal's better-known coastal resorts.
