Travel Counsellors explore India’s Golden Triangle

India is a land of colours, cultures, and contrasts, with a getaway here proving to be one of the most in-demand destinations for those looking for adventure. Some of our Travel Counsellors recently embarked on an incredible journey through the Golden Triangle—Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra—to get a better understanding of the region and how best to showcase the experiences on offer here to their customers. From staying in a selection of luxurious Oberoi properties to seeing the iconic Taj Mahal up close, here is everything they got up to on their seven-night exploration.

Travel Counsellors explore India’s Golden Triangle

New Delhi

Their journey began in New Delhi, a city where modernity meets ancient history. The capital’s dynamic energy was infectious, and it’s very easy to be swept up in its pulse. From the historic Red Fort to the serene Lodhi Gardens and Qutub Minar (which our Travel Counsellors visited), Delhi offers a tapestry of sights that tell the story of India’s rich past. Here, they stayed in the beautiful The Oberoi New Delhi, which boasts breathtaking views of Humayun’s Tomb – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – and beautifully spacious rooms.

“Staying with The Oberoi Group was unlike anything I’d experienced before. The service was exceptional, with personal butlers, daily gifts, and thoughtful flower messages left in my room. Each detail felt tailored, and it made the trip feel extra special.”

Jaipur

Next, the Pink City of Jaipur welcomed our Travel Counsellors with open arms. Its stunning palaces and forts speak of royalty and opulence, so everyone was very excited to explore. Wandering through the Amber Fort in the evening and marvelling at the intricate architecture of the City Palace were just some of highlights in this city of contrasts. The Oberoi Rajvilas offered some much-needed time to relax before the next big adventure, and their luxury villas and royal tents in a fort setting had to be seen to be believed.

“There were so many unforgettable experiences, but if I had to choose some highlights, I would say the sunset visit to the Taj Mahal and visiting a Gurdwara in Delhi, where we helped volunteers make chapatis and chop vegetables, which go towards feeding up to 70,000 people daily.”

Agra

The final stop on this breathtaking tour was Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, and it was dream come true for many on this trip. Watching the sunset paint the marble mausoleum in hues of pink and orange was a spiritual experience for our Travel Counsellors and a visit to Fatehpur Sikri, the Mughal dynasty’s one-time capital, offered a glimpse into the grandeur and architectural brilliance of the era.

The overnight stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas rounded up the trip perfectly and, with a Bollywood dance lesson after breakfast, the group then made their way back to Delhi to explore The Imperial, a luxury hotel perfectly located for several popular attractions such as Jantar Mantar and Sri Bangla Sahib Gurudwara.

“The standard of our trip with TBi was outstanding. Having Vivek and Biju from TBi with us throughout the week was an absolute delight and made the experience even more special.”

Experience boutique beachfront living in Mexico

14 August 2026

For those who like their Caribbean escape with a little more character, The Fives Oceanfront offers boutique luxury right on the beachfront in Puerto Morelos. This former fishing village has kept a noticeably slower pace than some of the Riviera Maya’s larger resorts, with local restaurants, small shops, and the town’s leaning lighthouse all within easy reach. Back at the hotel, the atmosphere is equally laid-back, with contemporary design, plenty of space to switch off, and the Caribbean Sea taking centre stage.

Experience the adventurous side of Turks and Caicos

14 August 2026

This corner of the Caribbean has all the ingredients for an easy Caribbean escape, from the powder-soft sands of Grace Bay to brilliantly clear water made for long afternoons by the sea. But spend a little more time here, and there’s another side to the islands worth exploring. You can kayak through mangroves, snorkel over coral reefs, venture across to North and Middle Caicos, and seek out local food and music back on Providenciales. Better still, these experiences can easily sit alongside slower beach days, giving you a holiday that feels adventurous without needing to be action-packed from morning to night.

Singapore through the seasons: why there’s always something to celebrate

10 August 2026

Singapore may be compact, but its calendar is packed with celebrations that can transform an already memorable city break into something even more special. Throughout the year, its neighbourhoods are illuminated by festival lights, the Marina Bay skyline becomes the backdrop for fireworks and motor racing, and streets fill with parades, markets, music, and food. Many events reflect Singapore’s multicultural identity, giving visitors the chance to experience Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international traditions within the same city. You don’t necessarily need to plan your entire holiday around one event, either. Time your visit well, and Singapore’s annual celebrations can add colour, flavour, and a real sense of occasion to the attractions, restaurants, and neighbourhoods already on your itinerary.
