My name is James Comrie, I have been in the travel industry since 1983, so this year I am celebrating 37 years in the travel industry. When I started in 1983 until 2003 I worked in an award winning travel agents in Dundee, Perth and Stirling, however by 2000 I realised that this great industry was changing.
More and more customers were looking to arrange trips that were not always from a conventional brochure, more customers were realising how easy it was to visit family and friends in far-off destinations like Australia and New Zealand. My expertise was now required to help them in a different way, it was becoming clear to me that relationship building with clients was the way forward. I started to look for a new exciting challenge.
I joined Travel Counsellors in 2003, I have just celebrated 17 successful years with this awesome company. Travel Counsellors allows me to run my own business from home but it also has the most amazing support structure in place, so much so that you never ever think you are working alone. During the last 15 years, I have been lucky to visit so many great places: Australia, India, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman, New York, Florida, and most countries in Europe.
I arrange a lot of cruises for my clients ranging from Mediterranean to Caribbean, as well as ocean and river cruises with many well-known companies including Regent Seven Seas, Scenic River Cruises, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and P&O.
Many of you will know me from my time in Crieff and Dunblane in Scotland, however I now live in Welton, Brough, East Riding of Yorkshire. I still travel to Scotland on a regular basis to look after my many-established clients face to face so I am also available for home or workplace visits where necessary both in Scotland and the East Riding area.
