I'm Julie, an independent travel agent based in Beverley, East Yorkshire - a beautiful market town famous for its Minster and racecourse. I'm originally from Sheffield, and married with two daughters. I have over 24 years of travel experience, 13 with a high street travel agent, and will only give you my honest, best advice.
I have first-hand knowledge of many exciting destinations and still have many more to see. I have experience of European beaches, especially those throughout Spain, the Canaries and Turkey. I've cruised Mexico, the West Med and Adriatic. I have travelled to the West and East coasts of America - and absolutely love Florida (I can give you the best tips!)
I've been to Australia, visited Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne, so much to see and do, once returning via Fiji. I have been skiing in Canada, visiting Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise and Vancouver. I have travelled through Italy by rail - visiting Venice, Florence and Rome - and driven the Amalfi Coast ,Sorrento, an absolute must! I have also been to many of the Caribbean islands. Even a Sound of Music bicycle tour in Salzburg, essential for any film fan. In February this year i was lucky enough to visit India, travelling through northern India to see Shimla, Dharamshala, and the ceremony of the guards between India and Pakistan. We flew down to Jaipur, then onto Ranthambore to see the Tigers then onto the beautiful Taj Mahal. This year brings a few lovely trips , Lake Garda, River cruise along the Rhine, Malta , Vienna and Zurich...with an overnight train, this will be interesting.
I love football, and have supported Sheffield United for many years, unfortunately relegated this season, lets see what the 24/25 season brings. Bramall Lane is my second home. My bucket list included Hong Kong which I visited eight years ago. It was fabulous and lived up to my expectations. Next on the list is South America, Sri Lanka and the Maldives., possibly 2025 ( obviously inbetween my football matches)

Rome is Italy’s capital city with nearly 3000 years of influential art, architecture and ancient ruins. Known as the Eternal City, it's so romantic and spectacular; breathtaking, timeless, enchanting, happy, and picturesque.
The top sights are the Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, St Peters Basilica, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museums, and many more. I recommend at least 3 nights to make the most of a fabulous break away.
We arrived into Ciampino airport to be met by our driver, who gave us a guided tour to our hotel, the Visconti Palace.
The hotel was ideally situated for walking to various famous sights, one way to the Vatican, the other towards the Spanish steps, and Trevi Fountain.
The weather was glorious, and just around the corner of the hotel was a fabulous ice cream parlour (we knew it was fab due to the many Italians queuing outside).
A pleasant walk amongst the shops to these beautiful buildings, taking lots of photos along the way. The beautiful blue sky against the magnificent buildings with all the greenery is a photographers dream!
Wandering through the many little shops, our eyes were everywhere, so much to see. A tip - flat shoes please, you will walk and walk!
To stand in the Colosseum and imagine the gladiators fighting, being watched by up to 80,000 spectators back in the day is surreal.
A fun afternoon was spent sitting in a street café, watching the Italians try and squeeze their little cars and mopeds into the tiniest of spaces, even a bunch of people lifting up a car and nudging it along!
Each evening we dined in some lovely outside restaurants to be serenaded by local bands, which really nice.
There is a little gem of Rome, an area called Trastevere.. It's a corner of Rome full of little shops, cobbled streets and cafes and is well worth a visit.
We loved it so much, we're already talking of going back next year, just to taste the Gelato again!
The title says it all; Florida has everything from sun to theme parks, beaches, shopping and food - the list goes on.
We hired a mini van, then made our way to a beautiful Lake facing, 5 bedroom Villa.
We visited all the theme parks, shopped till we dropped and ate at some fab restaurants. One day we went across to Clearwater, which had the most softest sand ever - and swam with dolphins!
For Harry Potter fans, you must visit Florida!
We found Disney Springs, recently opened, an evening entertainment area. There was so much going on -music, live bands, shops, and restaurants. It's so lovely to wander round for any age.
It’s my favourite family holiday and I'm booking to go back very soon!
We boarded the Emirates flight to Hong Kong, a lovely experience with comfortable seats, lovely food and plenty of legroom.
We arrived into Hong Kong, boarding their fast metro into the city where we took the shuttle bus to the Harbour Grand Hotel. We had booked a room with a harbour view which was very spacious and had a fabulous breakfast. It's very easy to get into the city too using their own shuttle bus.
Must-do trips whilst in Hong Kong:
- A ride on the cable car to Ngong Ping/take the tram up to Victoria Peak and some retail therapy in Stanley market.
- We ventured over to Hong Kong Island on the Star ferry, didn’t take long but well worth it for the scenery
We boarded the flight to Phuket, from Hong Kong airport, where, in my husband’s opinion, had the best ever cheese and biscuits! We arrived to our hotel the Katathani in Kata Noi, this hotel was beautiful, very large, traditional bedrooms with views of the beach and sea.
We had a lovely breakfast, and pretty gardens with good sized pool areas. It was very easy to venture into Kata and further away, Patong for plenty of shopping and nightlife, you could even try the local transport Tuk Tuk - very interesting journey!
This twin centre was lovely from start to finish, I would love to go back as there was so much to do...

Julie is fantastic, first rate from start to finish, advice on which hotels to consider was in-depth and honest, the booking thereafter was as smooth as possible, communications 1st class and Julie always make sure every step of the way the arrangements are spot on. When things don’t go as planned because of transport issues Julie was bang on the money making arrangements before we had even landed the onward transport had been rearranged and was waiting for us when we arrived, it’s when things don’t go as expected where you see why you chose to use a travel consultant like Julie while others on the same flight were left struggling to make arrangements, scratching there heads and trying to find out what to do, I always recommend Julie to family, friends and colleagues because it’s the bits you don’t see and when things go wrong that makes a massive difference when Julie is there to sort it as I said before we had even landed.

Julie was soooo helpful and got me a flight when I was literally at the end of my tether looking. Having MS I have requested mobility assistance and Julie has sorted this, along with luggage and meals for me. It was such an easy way to book and saved me another 50 hours of sat looking at a screen, going bog eyed and still not getting anywhere. I did all this over a text message to begin with and after then speaking to Julie, who is very down to earth and easy to talk to, my holiday was booked!!! My experience of booking with Julie is a very positive one. She was both knowledgeable and professional, thoughtful and patient. Nothing was too much trouble, and she gave advice when required, but also left us to make our own decisions without any pressure. Just to say that Julie has arranged countless holidays abroad for myself and my husband, and they have always been "spot on", with no hiccups or problems.

The most complicated holiday was an Australian trip. Six weeks away. Manchester to Singapore to Sydney, Adelaide, drove coast road to Melbourne intoTasmania for our son's wedding, flying to Thailand via Sydney and Bangkok, returning via Heathrow to Manchester. All bespoke; booking hotels, car hire, transfers etc. and it ran like clockwork.

Julie Pratt has helped me book a surprise family holiday. Not only was she very efficient in doing so, she took our wants seriously and did not stop until we were happy. Julie was very enthusiastic and seemed very happy to help. I had requested quotes form her and received them within the hour. As i was booking this holiday for 8 people including myself, there was a lot of pressure to get the right holiday for us. I told Julie our wants and needs and she took all of it into consideration.
