Discover the French Alps in Ultimate Comfort: A Luxury Chalet Ski Experience with Ski France

Imagine waking up to crisp mountain air, stepping onto freshly powdered slopes just meters from your door, and returning in the evening to a luxury chalet where gourmet meals, spa indulgences, and cozy interiors await. This is what a ski holiday with Ski France truly offers—a seamless blend of adventure, comfort, and style in the heart of the French Alps.

Thursday 11 December: - Arrival and First Impressions

Our journey began at Geneva Airport, where I met Zac and Matteo for the start of an unforgettable Alpine adventure. With a picnic lunch en route, we drove through the snow-covered landscapes towards Alpe d’Huez, soaking in the dramatic vistas and charming mountain villages. By mid-afternoon, we arrived at Chalet La Chapelle, a stunning retreat that perfectly balances Alpine charm with modern luxury.

After collecting our ski equipment, we explored the resort on foot. Walking through Alpe d’Huez revealed the beauty of staying in a chalet: being moments away from slopes, shops, and restaurants without the hassle of crowded hotels or long transfers. That evening, a contactless catering dinner in the chalet ensured we could relax and unwind while enjoying a gourmet meal prepared with precision and care.

Friday 12 December: Skiing Made Effortless

Morning skiing in Alpe d’Huez was pure magic. There’s a unique benefit to chalet stays: your equipment is ready, your boots are dry, and you can head straight to the slopes without delay. Lunch at Le Chantebise 2100 offered spectacular views and exquisite Alpine cuisine, before we returned to the chalet to freshen up and change.

The afternoon brought a scenic transfer to Val d’Isère, with a stop in Moûtiers.  Arriving at Chalet Genepy, we were greeted by impeccable service, ready-to-wear ski fittings courtesy of Oxygène, and another gourmet contactless dinner. Staying in a chalet like this eliminates the stress of coordinating meals, transport, or ski logistics, allowing guests to focus entirely on skiing and relaxation.

Saturday 13 December: Chalet Hopping and Tailored Ski Experiences

One of the most exciting aspects of a Ski France chalet holiday is choice of multiple properties, each offering its own style and amenities. We toured chalets including Sources de l’Isère, Atacama, Arosa, Davos and Machapuchare seeing firsthand how each can cater to different tastes while maintaining luxury and comfort.

After changing for skiing we hit the slopes again, illustrating another advantage of chalet-based holidays: private instructors and personalized lessons can be arranged directly through your accommodation. The day ended with an après-ski gathering, a transfer to Chalet Cervinia for spa relaxation, and a champagne and canapé reception, followed by a chef-prepared dinner. It’s the perfect balance of Alpine activity and indulgent downtime, all orchestrated effortlessly by Ski France and Purple Ski.

Sunday 14 December: Ski, Shopping, and Farewell

Our final day combined skiing, sightseeing, and shopping. But, most exciting, the opportunity to see the Mens World Cup Slalom event,  At the event, we  found a street-food lunch and World Cup viewing in the local Fanzone. We then visited Chalet Inuit, enjoyed some brief shopping, and strolled through the village, soaking up the festive atmosphere. The journey back to Geneva Airport was exciting due to traffic and fog marking the end of a perfectly curated ski experience.
