Customer Blog: Holiday of a lifetime, Mauritus & Dubai 2024
We started with a 3-night stopover in Dubai, staying at 5* hotel overlooking the Jumeirah Beach Walk. The hotel was first class, very friendly and modern. The hotel had very little noise disturbance despite being located in a bustling, lively area. The breakfast was extensive, catering for everyone’s needs. There was plenty of space around the pool. We went to a Lebanese restaurant which was delicious and reasonably priced. For a special occasion I would recommend The Pods, Dubai – although pricey, the food was delicious. One of our party did the tandem skydive. Although it was a very early start, even as a spectator it was well worth the visit. We used the metro to get to the famous Dubai Fountains and Dubai Mall quickly and cheaply, although avoid rush-hour for obvious reasons.
We then moved on to Mauritius, which was beautiful and stayed at a 5* hotel on the south coast of the island. The drive from the airport to the hotel, and the hotel itself, reminded us a lot of a previous holiday that Lucy organised to Phuket in Thailand. Lucy also found the Mauritius hotel for us and WOW it was superb. The staff were delightful, and so helpful. The entertainment at night was fun. The food was good. We didn’t explore the island, which we regret. However, the men played golf and the rest of us used the spa. A thoroughly relaxing time. The beach is white, just like you’d imagine it to be. There were quite a lot of daily activities which we took advantage of; including aquafit and snorkelling.
On our way home we stopped in Dubai again, at one of Dubai’s most iconic hotels.
This hotel has to be seen to be believed ! We spent the days in the water park, the best I have been to. And the rest of the time eating in the hotel’s fantastic range of restaurants and even enjoyed an afternoon tea here too. If you can bear the heat, go in June/July/August, it is quieter and more affordable.
Lucy not only organises the whole trip including all private transfers, but she also prints off all documentation and even writes your labels out. Any issues (although that is rare) are dealt with by Lucy promptly and effectively. Lucy takes all the hassle out of booking a holiday, meaning you relax from day 1 of booking. Lucy is very patient and knowledgeable, and what she doesn’t know she finds out. I have booked all sorts of holidays with Lucy; special holidays like the above, family package holidays, and city breaks.
