A little bit about me…
Hello and welcome! I’m Mairead, a travel lover, holiday planner, mammy and the person behind this little travel business I’ve dreamed of having for years! Here’s a little bit about me and my business, and why I love helping people create their perfect holidays.
I’m based in Northern Ireland, living between Claudy, Co. Derry and Donemana, Co. Tyrone – and while my address might say Tyrone, I’m a Derry girl at heart! I’m married to Niall and mammy to our little girl, Caoimhe, who is now four (where does the time go?!).
After years of dreaming about it, I finally took the leap in late 2022 and started my own travel business with Travel Counsellors. Almost four years on, I can honestly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
Travel has always been a huge passion of mine, and I’ve been lucky enough to explore some incredible places around the world. My favourite has to be Hawaii – not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it was also where Niall and I honeymooned, making it extra special.
I’m a big believer that booking a holiday should be exciting, not stressful. I take the time to get to know you, understand what you’re looking for and then take care of all the details that make a trip truly perfect, from the initial ideas right through to the moment you arrive back home.
I love planning all kinds of trips, but honeymoons are definitely one of my absolute favourites! There’s something so special about helping a couple plan such an important trip and creating something that feels completely personal to them. I also love working on family holidays, luxury escapes, girls’ trips, city breaks and everything in between!
One of the best things about my job has been the amazing relationships I’ve built with my clients. Over the past few years, some have genuinely become friends, and I love hearing about their holidays, helping them plan their next adventure and getting those messages saying, “This place is amazing!” It’s a part of the job that never gets old!
