We started our journey from Heathrow after a home pick‑up and an overnight stay in Nairobi to refresh before the adventure really began. Driving to our first stop, The Ark in Aberdare National Park, we passed through local towns and villages, watching real people doing real things. It was an eye opener: whole families and huge loads balanced on a single tiny motorbike, busy markets, everyday life unfolding all around us. The Ark itself really does feel like Noah’s Ark. With indoor and outdoor viewing platforms looking over the waterhole, we were able to watch elephants, buffalo, impala, hyenas and so many other animals just “doing their thing”. This was only a taster of what was to come. From there we drove to Lake Nakuru for our first game drive. Within hours we had seen a black rhino and started ticking off the Big Five, which we actually managed to complete twice, thanks to our amazing driver and guide, Humphrey. Next was Lake Naivasha, where we got up close and personal with hippos. One literally woke me up outside my lodge! It was also where I had my first giraffe selfie, and they quickly became my absolute favourite. Our final stop was the iconic Maasai Mara. Here we were treated to not one but two leopard sightings, and even a cheetah came to say hello. We saw hippos, elephants, many lions and such an array of unusual bird species that I have turned into a bit of a spotter. The whole experience was totally life changing and one of the most incredible things we have ever done. Experiencing wildlife at its very best, then floating over the Maasai Mara in a hot air balloon at sunrise, was moving beyond words. Safari was everything I had hoped for, and so much more. If you have ever dreamt of a safari in Kenya or elsewhere in Africa and would like a trip shaped around what matters most to you, I would love to help you plan it</span><!--EndFragment--> </body> </html>This gorgeous girl laid right in front of our jeep to watch the most perfect SunsetLenny as I named him (Original I know) most majestic creatureThe final view of the Massai Mara, just perfect
