Next, you'll arrive in Saint-Pierre, Martinique, a charming coastal town with a fascinating past. Once known as the "Paris of the Caribbean", today it's a lovely place to wander colourful streets, browse local shops and stop for lunch at a waterfront restaurant serving Creole favourites. The backdrop of Mount Pelée and the town's restored landmarks make this one of the itinerary's most rewarding ports to explore at your own pace.

Later in the trip you'll visit Terre-de-Haut in the Îles des Saintes, one of those places that feels wonderfully untouched. Small cafés, boulangeries and fishing boats line the harbour, while the walk up to Fort Napoléon rewards you with panoramic views across the surrounding islands. It's an easy-going destination where the simple pleasures, from freshly baked pastries to locally caught seafood, are what make the visit memorable.
