• The Loisaba Conservancy itself is vast and less crowded than many of Kenya’s better-known parks. Your stay includes a range of guided activities such as shared game drives, bush walks, bush breakfasts or lunches, and sundowners, along with more unusual options like camel trekking, horse riding, and even time with the anti-poaching sniffer dogs. Wildlife sightings are strong here, with elephants, lions, leopards, and Grevy’s zebras often seen, and the variety of experiences gives you a broader view of how the land is used and protected.

• Elephant Pepper Camp in the Mara North Conservancy takes a more traditional approach. The camp is unfenced and low-impact, with spacious canvas tents that include en-suite bathrooms, hot bucket showers, and solar lighting. The main mess tent is where meals are served and where guests tend to gather in the evenings, often around the campfire. It’s not about high-end facilities here, but rather a comfortable, well-run camp that keeps the focus on the safari experience itself.

• The setting in Mara North offers access to the Masai Mara ecosystem but with fewer vehicles and a more controlled number of camps, which makes a noticeable difference when you’re out on drives. Included in your stay are shared game drives, guided walks, bush meals, and sundowners, along with all meals and selected drinks, so the days flow easily without needing to plan. This area is well known for its big cats, particularly lions and cheetahs, and you’re also likely to see elephants, giraffes, and large herds of plains game moving across the savannah. Back at camp, it’s not unusual for wildlife to pass nearby, adding to the sense that you’re properly immersed in the environment rather than observing it from a distance.
