The first part of the itinerary focuses on Sri Lanka’s history and wildlife. After arriving into Colombo, you’ll travel to Sigiriya, where the famous rock fortress rises dramatically above the surrounding landscape. The following afternoon brings your first safari experience in Minneriya, known for its elephant sightings and beautiful national park scenery.
From Sigiriya, the journey continues to Kandy, where you’ll take on a smaller trail through Udawattakele before heading onwards towards Hatton. The route then shifts into adventure mode with an included white-water rafting excursion in Kithulgala, adding a real sense of fun and energy to the trip.
Sri Lanka’s tea country brings a slower, greener side to the itinerary. Around Hatton, Kotagala, and Norwood, you’ll follow trails through rolling plantation scenery before continuing to Ella, one of the island’s most atmospheric hill-country stops. Here, the famous Nine Arches Bridge and Ravana Falls add two of Sri Lanka’s most recognisable landscapes into the journey.
The final highlight is Yala National Park, where another safari gives you the chance to look for wildlife before the pace softens completely. After days of travelling, walking, rafting, and exploring, the holiday ends with a three-night beach stay in Kalutara, giving you time to relax by the coast before flying home.
